I have a great life, and everything, but I feel helpless and awful alot, but then I feel happy about 2 seconds later. What do I do?

Talk to your doctor about those rapic cycling emotions. It could be nothing, but if you fear you are dealing with depression or a mental illness, it is best to take action sooner than later. See your doctor. Be well.

sounds like you practice a great deal of negative thought patterns.

when was the last time you did/made/wrote a gratitude list.

go get a note book and pen. write #s 1-20 down the page.

list 20 things that you are grateful for: air, trees, a baby's smile etc etc.

do this DAILY.

your thoughts will change over time...

AND AND AND make an appointment with a psychotherapist/counselor and get into talk therapy immediately.

there are no magic pills. med can help but one needs to do WORK along with meds to address the causes and conditions!!!

You obviously don't have a "great life" if you are feeling this way.

I suggest you take some quiet time by yourself and just sit and think about what is going on every time you feel down. Is someone making you feel bad by saying things that are abusive? Are you valued as a person? Are you living the life you choose to live?

Really be honest with yourself about your life, those you interact with and how you live daily.

You may want to discuss this with a counselor.

Mood swings could be caused by many things. If you are suffering from depression or any other kind of mental illness having a great life will not matter. Depression isn't about what is going on in your life...it is about a chemical imbalance that needs to be corrected. Please talk to your doctor.

I'll follow along with the previous answers: check with a doctor/therapist, you could have clinical depression. There are meds and behavior therapy that can help. No one has to live that way any more.

maybe you have clinical depression
or you might be bipolar

I*m going through some of the same stuff

its tough && sucks
everyone keeps asking whats wrong?
I*m like i don't know
&& my mom thinks it is a phase

I would try to see a dr
they might be able
to put you on medication
or atleast help you figure out
what is going on
maybe send you to a therapist
or something of the sort.

you need to see a dr. Sounds like you may have a chemical or hormonal imbalance. Meds can help.
