You just try searching - there are various "411" type websites. But the US doesn't have an "official" online site of white pages of the country like Canada does.

It really depends on how much information you have on the person- if you have social security number- it makes the process easiest. If you do, you can go to a certain websites and just request the info. If you don't then you might be able to find through reverse phone look up. Otherwise you can hire a personal investigator and for a cost of about $500 or so, he or she can help you find by cross-referencing with old address and phone number. There are lot of ways to find someone (like utility records, title records, etc.) You can try: http://www.anywho.com or http://www.ussearch.com. I have tried www.ussearch.com myself. Good luck.
