thats a really hard question but there is a chapter in the Bible where a man gets a message from God to sacrifice his son on the altar on the top aof a mountain, the man gets the tools together and takes his son and goes to the top of the mountain right before he was about to sacrifice his son God tells the man i am very pleased and you don't want you to kill you son they lived a long life together
so technically we would should but when it came down to it i really couldn't tell you what i would do

I would like to know that i had enough faith in God to do it, but I can't honestly say that I would especially considering it was his only son and God had already promised him that his descendents would out number the stars. But then again maybe that's why he knew God wouldn't fail him. Even if he did kill him Abraham knew that God would have to bring him back to life because he had already promised.

LOL...this is actually a good question. I don't believe in God, so I'd see the doctor, personally, if that happened to me; but I eagerly await the other responses.
So..."Abraham was a man of great faith when God told him to sacrifice his son Issac." I'm sorry, but that is pretty damned sick. Remember Susan Smith? Was she a "woman of great faith"? She thought God told her to kill her kids too. It's disturbing the way people will defend this kind of savagery just because it's in the Bible.

I would obey Him.....just like when Abraham went to kill Isaac, just at the last second, God sent a ram to Abraham to sacrifice instead, and God was pleased.
But if there was no ram, or other animal, NO WAY!

That's a tough question. Abraham was a man of great faith when God told him to sacrifice his son Issac. I don't know that I could.

I would have checked in to hospital long before that happened. I suspect that if there was adequate health care 3000 years ago the Old Testament would never have got started.

sacrifices are no longer needed once Jesus came. we must keep in mind that the bible is finished, and tells us everything we need to know. the key truth is that if God were to give a vision, it would agree completely with what he has already revealed in his word. visions should never be given equal or greater authority than the word of God. God’s word is our ultimate authority for christian faith and practice.

First, I'd tell him he had me clearly confused with someone who actually has a child. Then I'd ask him to explain to me why he thinks I should obey such an outrageous, appalling, disgusting command.

The god that has in the past asked people to pass their children through the fire to him was Satan & his demons.
God gave His Only Begotten Son once & for all to atone for our sins. What good would it do to scrifice children to devils? That wouldn't save anyone.
Jesus told me that He would never ask me to do this. He already gave himself. He said, "It is finished." on the cross.
