I cleaned my laptop screen with an ordinary glass cleaner and an ordinary cloth. After cleaning, the laptop worked well for couple of hours and then all the colors are faded. Is there any possible way to get it repaired? Or do i have to replace the screen? I am totally screwed up ... please post any suggestion that may help me ...

I even tried re cleaning the screen with pure water to remove any chemical that might have caused this but no luck.

Help me please...

Contact manufacturer for a price to replace screen, but it can be almost as cheap to replace entire unit. As a temp measure you can use an external monitor.

Next time though use proper LCD / Laptop screencleaning cloths. Glass cleaner is designed for windows and mirrors, NOT mionitors, not even glass fronted tubes, as it's not designed to deal with the static electricity. And it's certainøy not designed for use on the soft plastic on an LCD

Sorry, but an expensive lesson is one you tend to recall

Sounds like the glass cleaner and water went inside the video screen case and shorted out the inverter.

You have two choices:
Repair the video screen inverter (cheapest) or buy a new computer.

If you are a do it yourselfer and want to repair it yourself I have written some how to's for this subject on my web site:

(you will have to research your computer make and model to find an inverter, then try eBay, sometimes they are for sale there)

I'm sorry but it would likely need replacing. Compare it to an ordinary T.V., once the picture tubes runs out, colors and quality fades away and with continual use goes black. Repairing by replacing its "picture tube" but sometimes this doesn't work..it might cost you much when you buy a new one,but try for a good technician to help you out. Good luck! Nothing to do with cleaners.

never use any ordinary cloth in cleaning the screen.. there is LCD CLEANING CLOTH that is made especially for LAPTOP'S LCD, materials are different than any ordinary cloth and NEVER NEVER use any liquid except the one for LCD, this liquid can remove scratches also i just forget the name.

I'm sorry about your laptop.
But I don't think that there's anything you can do.
But if you get it fixed, theres a cleaner for laptop screens.
You can get it Staples or Officemax for a good price.

i think of you could pull of any clothing, yet make confident in case you opt for like a tanish brown blouse it would not blend with your pores and skin shade. i think of darkish blue and crimson seems truly superb on those with that pores and skin shade. For makeup i could only bypass with black mascara and your eyeliner is as much as you in case you prefer to placed on it. solid success! :]
