No disrespect against the normal Muslims out there, but the whole concept of honour killings makes me feel really angry. How is it honourable to murder your offspring? Surely the job of being a parent is the hardest in the world? but that is no excuse for being so weak that you can't even follow your natural human instincts.

My strictly Muslim female friend recently fell in love with a British man. Her parents told her that she couldn't see him anymore but she was so unhappy, and they loved her so much that they had a family meeting and the end result was that he had to convert to Islam, he had to marry her, and he had to be circumcised. He did all of these things and now they have a 9 month old baby together and are a happy family.

Thank God that some Muslim families can balance their faith with the ways of the modern world without resorting to murdering their children!

See! It can be done! What are your opinons on this?

This is nothing to do with Islam, its a cultural thing rather than a religious thing.

Similar cultures would have caused the lynching of black men who dated white women in the American South,-------------

I think you're right there Johnny. It isn't only Muslims and it affects us all. My husband is Asian and I'm white. We're lucky not to have ever had racism and for that I'm grateful. :)

It seems that some Muslim families care more about the fact that other people in their community might disapprove if their child behaves in a none-traditional way than they do about the child's happiness. To me that's bad parenting.

I have several Muslim friends whose families are more liberal and happy for them to find their own partner in their own time so it's not all Muslims.

I agree with you and also Johnny. It is a cultural rather than a religious thing which is unfortunate because as with terrorists, mention the word Muslim and people are up in arms.
As i have said in a previous post, there are good and bad in all cultures and religions and when i was working in Oman for 6 weeks, i was treated with the utmost respect and made some very good friends among the people there.

What a query I`ve in basic terms been listening to a woman on the run in worry for her life. She defined that honour killing is a few style of previous tribal custom and that the west look to have linked it to Islam because of the fact numerous the tribes that carry it out are basically of the muslim faith. She fairly quoted from the Q-uran as to the evil of one in each of those prepare and reported that any one partaking in it rather is fairly condemning themselves to everlasting damnation..!! So it`s against the regulation against the guy the state and the religion. it could`t get any further evil..!!

honour killings

allowing your child to die through not allowing blood transfusions

just some of the ways that religions screw people up

but then you get the catholics not allowing condoms or abortion

it is a bad thing when a religion takes over someones brain and brainwashes it and dosent allow someone to make there own decisions

sure sounds mixed up that murder is considered less of a crime than dishonouring a families ethics

but how are they balancing their faith if the man had to convert to Islam ?

Honour killing is carried out by bigotted people who are normally intelectually challanged.

I condemn it as a needless waste of life.
