Will he stop at nothing to foster his nice guy image?
I've never liked his tricks but this is an all time low even by his standards.
A genuine person would make an unpublicised visit.

Publicity stunt, publicity stunt, publicity stunt. Can he do something unannounced and not let anybody find out? To think when you go to respect your hero you might wanna do it in peace and have your privacy instead of turning it into a media frenzy...

Senna is LH's hero, this has been seem numerous times through the years. Look at his helmet for example.

I have seen video footage of LH when he was about 12, it showed his bedroom and it was like a shrine to Senna. Model cars, flags, posters. He is a Senna fan. Give him a break.

I don't think theres much in it as far as a publicity stunt. I looked it up after seeing this question and i was not able to find any articles about it on any f1 site. I did find it on the yahoo f1 page, from what i read, he plans on visiting after the race. I guess he's just making the trip since he'll already be in brazil from the final race. As a racing fan, i would make the trip to senna's grave if i were in brazil and i'm sure lewis isn't the first driver to do so.

You have to keep in mind that the press will be following his every move even more closely in the coming days, this kid is making history and something like this will get published. I bet they asked him which spots he will hit before he goes to any country where he races, this particular time, it happens to be at senna's grave site which is quite a significant thing...

Heres a little something from the thursday press conference in brazil

Q: (Jon McEvoy – The Daily Mail) Lewis, you said that after this event you may go to Senna’s grave maybe on Monday. Is that still your plan or have you already been there?
LH: I haven’t been there and it hasn’t crossed my mind to be honest. I doubt it very much I will go because I will be followed…. So I’ll have to leave that for another trip.

Gatorade has a valid point. i too would visit senna place of rest if i was in Brazil. what you have to remember is that Lewis is Brit press gold at the moment. I'm sure if he farted it would make the front page!

God knows. He may just be innocently paying respects to one of F1's greatest heroes ever. ANd maybe we think too badly of him to think that he is up to something. (He may be trying to get Senna's blessings??? ;p)

Or maybe it's just for publicity. Well, only Hamilton himself knows what he really is up to.

personally i think ever driver should see senna's grave. Also there is no wrong in lewis visiting senna's grave.

but he or whoever, shouldn't have announced it, especially to the press.

whatever Lewis does or doesn't do he will get criticised, maybe he thought it was an unpublicised visit you can't escape the press they are everywhere.

Hamilton could have visited Senna's grave unannounced quietly in the off-season. Instead he will go their as Saint Hamilton and bring all the press with him. Is he paying respect or is manipulating the press so that they will compare him as the next Senna? If he wants to show respect to past world champions, how about starting with his teammate Alonso.
