Just be sure to write it on something highly biodegradeable and equipped to handle the substance of the petition.
I suggest Charmin.

Good question. He had a very high approval rating up until 2005. His current rating is about 28 %, not the lowest of all presidents. Nixon had a 24 and Truman had a 23. And remember GW had one of the highest approval ratings of 63% around the third year of his presidency. If he ran against the knucklehead Obama, he would probably win. And even though McCain is the best qualified with the most experience of the two currents, he would possibly win against him too. You just can't be influenced by the two parties and don't believe anything you get from the press!

No, actually it wasn't the law when Roosevelt was in office. The law came into being BECAUSE Roosevelt was elected to 4 terms, which everyone thought was just too long to have one man in power.
We have had 2 terms of GHWB as VP, 1 term with him as President, 2 terms of Bill Clinton as President and 2 terms with GWB as President - 7 terms - 28 years - almost 3 DECADES of two families in power. Time to give someone whose name is not Bush OR Clinton a chance now.

I have no idea why you think that if Mr. Bush were to run again he would do so without Mr. Cheney. Or that if you "elect" to put Mr. Romney on your petition, everyone would be willing to sign. A better idea_if I may say so_is to come up with idea for all the people wanting Mr. Bush running again, to email you or whomever would be showing these emails to Congress.
Kidding aside, I'm sure there'll be millions wanting Mr. Bush give it a try for the third time.

Before FDR became president, there was no law limiting the number of terms a president can serve. In the 1950's , a law was passed limiting the number of terms a president can serve to 2.You will have to choose from the available candidates.

The prohibition against anyone being a three term president came after Roosevelt.....
But, if you wanted to make the effort to have the 22nd Amendment overturned in order to allow GWB to be president for a third term, you might start by creating some drug to remove 75 points from every person in America's IQ. That is the only way that they would even consider wanting that man back representing our great country....
But, if you have not had enough of our brave soldiers needlessly killed......press on with your petition.....

Coincidentally, I have been considering researching what it would take to begin a petition to limit ALL elected officials to two terms. I believe the career politician is a detriment to our country in that in most cases they have lost touch with the "Average American" trying to make ends meet, have become far too self-important, and rested on their laurels to the point of becoming bureaucratic sloths.
I suggest booting them out quickly to keep the energy alive in our government.

you can't. today the rules have been changed so that a president can only serve a maximum of 10 years. 2 full terms and 2 years brought up from vice presidency (in case a preseident dies or anything) when roosevelt was in office this rule was not yet in effect. so in reality you can't unless you amend the constitution which is almost impossible -__-

The US Constitution was changed after FDR got elected for four terms. Now a President can only serve two terms. A petition will do nothing.
