For the people that either have them or know a lot about them, which one should I get? I am looking to setup my HD projector, XBOX 360, DVD player, etc.
thanks!

Hi. Both Receivers have similar specifications. So it comes down to what you prefer...Video features or sound quality.
Sound quality should always come first in a Home Theater System. However a Receiver only has one power supply and it has to power the Pream/Processor Section the Tuner Section and the Power Amplifiers Section. The needs of the Power Amplifiers affect the Preamp section which degrades the sound that is sent to the speakers. All Receivers do this in varying degrees. The goal therefore is to degrade the signal as little as possible.
Both Receivers will sound different so it is up to you to decide which sound you like.In general the Yamaha has a softer sound which is pleasing to the ear for music. The Onkyo has a more dynamic sound .which is great for special effects .Keep in mind these variations are subtle and will depend on the speakers you are going to use.

I tend to like Yamaha. The RX-V line is their better version. It used to be - you wanted more Watts or buy the receiver that is heavier (heavier means a bigger transformer, will run cooler, last longer). But now - it's all about the inputs and the ability to connect things and d/l content from your computer. If both units have the same number of HDMI jacks, go with the Yamaha.
