There's fears, jealousy, "Nurture" (I.e. How one is raised), insecurity, the inability to accept that some people are different, et cetera...

Racism is never a good thing, and it doesn't matter what race you are: It isn't valid.

Prejudice? It's ultimately the choice of the person in question, but it's highly inaccurate at times. I personally don't use them often (And I advocate that others don't use them period), but due to the reasons above: A lot of people go to their grave still assuming they can know things about a person based on how they look. I think one should go about it (If they wish) in a sort of neutral way: "This person may exhibit x because they are y, but I shouldn't be alarmed if they are the opposite of x, or if they're z/a/b/c, because I don't personally know them."

Hatred? It would take me a while to really dissect it, but since the civil rights and similar movements are centered around apperance-based assumptions: I think it's perfectly fine to hate someone (Not a group) because of the "Content of their character." There's a lot of ugly people in the world, and visual perception isn't always the factor in a determination such as this.

People usually pick up from their surroundings...and like bullying, it makes the bully feel good but in actual fact it's only hurting them even more. It's all really stupid. Only cowards resort to things like you mentioned.

There is no reason it is heartless, mean, and it only rots the racist from the inside out. Hate brings down the immunity and thats when people can get sick.
