The day I turned 18, I had to work and I had the flu coming on. Then when I got home, everyone was out and I got no cake.

My 6Th birthday: My dad thought it would be good time to teach me a lesson on being to greedy. He bought me a wonderful cake and ice cream. He invited the kids next door over(they used to beat me up) and gave them cake and ice cream and I got none. He slapped me when I ran to my room crying. No cake ,no ice cream ,no presents, and no fun.
I think he was wrong, but I really loved him anyway.

When I turned 21. I went to church at night with my family, as usual. I told them I did not want to go out, just because I had turned 21. I hate(d) being the center of attention. I also knew that an Asian in a suit and tie would stick out in a restaurant, and I did not want to invite negative attention.

My idiot parents took me to a restaurant, anyway. I had a nice trenchcoat and suit on. I wanted to at least go home and change, but we went straight to the restaurant, where some others from the church were already there. Anyway, my family went in and sat, and I was in the car (don't remember why I fell behind). Anyway, I come out of the car, and two guys and a girl walk by and make a racist sound at me. I get inside and overhear people saying, "Look at that guy..." or "Look at that Chinese guy..." "Look how he walks..." I look around for where my group is sitting frantically, and catch glimpses of guys and gals laughing or smiling in ridicule, and finally get to my table, trembling in some weird confusion. My dumb idiot of a mom orders me a mudslide, which I am by that time in no mood to drink. I end up being in such a bad mood that when other members of the church congratulate me I can't even acknowledge it because in my mind I'm piecing together what just happened, and wondering why people, both White and Black, where behaving that way. The other church members there end up thinking that I'm rude and a snob, and the whole evening was just a nightmare.

Thanks America. Nothing I can do would ever be enough to balance things. I think this wins "most pathetic birthday." A birthday so bad that you end up cursing the day you were born (or the country you were born in) is pretty pathetic. It also motivates someone to write books and make it their lifelong mission to break down why people act the way they do.

The boss didn't give it to me and no cake, no present and no fun.My husband worked late that day too and we were to tired to do anything.I thought a 50th should be better than that.
