you're only as old as you feel . but look at it this way . If 30 is over the hill , then you were only 15 when you you hit your peak . or if you're 50 then you became middle age when you hit Only 25 . You're middle age should be 40 or 50 and you're over the hill at 80 or 90 .
Thats my idea and I'm sticking to it .

wow umm i don't know anymore...i'm 21 yrs old now
when i was younger i always thought 30 was OLD! .. but now i'm not even sure..i'd have to say older than 50 depending though. i think you're only over the hill if you let old age set in and truly believe that. b/c my mom turned 58 in june and my dad turned 57 this past month...they still have fun, go on cruises (& dancing) 6 times a year. my mom especially she can out dance my sisters & me anyday...and she's always had her own business and she doesn't plan on retiring from it anytime soon. also, my parents don't look a day over 40-45. i just hope i'm like that when i'm older or better

Trust me on this one. I'm 66.
The brain keeps getting better and better, so long as there is no physiological problem and you keep it active; it can form new neuronic paths if you challenge it, at any age.
You may forget a few facts; but the strategic capablity, if it is not lost, keeps growing.
The problems one encounters with age are always physical; loss of muscle elasticity; gain of weight as a consequence of doing less physically; developing ailments, pains, diseases, etc...
Proofs: At 78. Walter Pidgeon did his best role as an actor on "Ellery Queen" the tv show. Rex Stout wrote one of his best Nero Wolfe stories at 88. In her 80s, P.D. James wrote her best detective works. Michelangelo's late work is extraodrdnary. Frank Lloyd Wright's late work in his 70s and 80s are his best; Ayn Rand's last philosophy work Philosophy Who Needs It, is her best. The late works of Milo March, Lindsey Davis, Luke Short and Poul Anderson
are longer and more iteresting than very good earlier novels.
And last year, I wrote 2578 sonnets of what I consider to be great quality.
Let some 40 year old try any of these feats!
This year I', even better, I argue.
The old sage can always teach the young thinker new tricks.
There is no hill if you work at it, and also get a little lucky.

I hope it's not 30 or 40, because I've passed both of them and can see 50 puttering along in the slow lane way up ahead. Move the hell over, 50, I'm comin' through!
