Or do what you are scared of anyways? I mean within reason. If you are scared of asking someone if they need help or something, do you decide against asking or do you make yourself ask?

It totally depends on the situation. Sometimes my fear wins, because I can't breathe. If I know doing the thing I'm afraid of has to be done, I'll force myself to do it. If there is a chance for really good things to come of me doing the thing I'm afraid of, I'll force myself to do it and just get it over with. It's like anything you do actually. The more you go through the process of forcing yourself to do something your afraid of, the easier it is to force yourself through the next thing that scares you.

On some occasions yes! I am terrified of heights and will avoid driving over high bridges but will fly in an airplane, will ride on a rollercoaster once in a while and have walked across a suspension bridge over the Royal Gorge in Colorado- but only one way! They had to go back and get the car to get me back across-lol!

With the exception of visceral fears like my fear of heights, fear is a signal to me of the inevitable. It tells me that I need to deal with something sooner or later, so I may as well get it over with.

I'm not brave, but I crave resolution more than I crave denial that goes with postponing what I fear.

I do what I'm scared of. What a hell of an adrenaline rush. I try to be a leader, not a follower.
