why do you listen to music?

Question

i want to do a speech or report on why people like music,what makes them pick the music they do, does the music they listen to effect the decisions they make in life, and what do people look for in the music they buy?
there is no right or wrong answer, just answer the questions to the best of your ability. i want to get as wide a range of people's opinions as possible so this isn't just for like teenagers or anything. even if you're into like classical or bluegrass or something you can still answer.

I listen to pretty much everything electronic, some rock, some jazz, a bit of new age, some orchestral, etc...but it's mostly the electronic stuff.

sometimes, music acts like a drug, like an addicting chemical. I always finding myself getting hooked to a new song almost every day. it doesn't matter what style or genre it is. it makes me want more and more every day. it gives me energy, be it meditational/spiritual energy taken from smooth jazz or ambient soundscapes or hyperactive energy from really fast drum n bass/gabber.

and other times, music is an inspiration. when I'm going through tough times, I find music that can help influence me to get through the tough times. music also inspires me to think of other, weird abstract things, be it drawings or even my own music.

music is my life.

I listen to music for different reasons. Sometimes I play certain songs to fit my moods whether I'm angry, happy or sad. I play music to relax and have fun when I'm in a really good mood.

It calms me down, it keeps me in a good mood. It helps me relieve stress, It is basically my life.
