I keep seeing statements about how no Democrats work?
I thought you guys used "facts" and "logic"?
the last time I looked it up about 5 million were on welfare... I don't remember if that was "people" or "households"... but let's assume it's all voting age people... for maximum effect...
and about 59 million voted for Kerry?
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/results/president/
so assuming all 5 million on welfare voted (which if you look at the exit polls, those in poverty voted the least, so that's a pretty rediculous assumption in the first place)...
then at best... less than 10 percent of voting Democrats are on welfare... and over 90 percent work... and that's based on many huge assumptions and highest possible numbers...
so, at worst, 90 percent of voting Democrats work... sounds like the vast majority to me...
did I miss something or does it seem like Republicans are a little delusional on this one?

What do you guys mean it's "not relavent"?
I just saw two republicans on here say it in two different questions? don't you think you should have to back up what you're saying or at least be somewhat factual?

and even if (which is a big if) 100 percent of welfare recipients are Democrat... that doesn't mean 100 percent of Democrats are on welfare...

I have searched for a long time for demographics of welfare recipients. Not necessarily for politics, but just to see who actually collects it.
I bet it is far from being the "Welfare Queen" stereotype that republicans bray about.

The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of people on welfare do not vote, so they are neither Democrats or Republicans. Democrats and Republicans differ as to what we should do about these people. Democrats favor taking care of them. Republicans favor letting them turn to crime. Personally, I think my tax dollars are better spent taking care of them than having them break into my house, terrorize my family, steal my stuff, and then, if they happen to get caught, waste a hell of a lot MORE of my tax money by utilizing the prison system. The money would have been much better spent taking care of them in the first place...

I've said it before and i've said it again. I'm a democrat, who works 2 jobs, picks up trash daily, and is heavily involved in the local music scene. I guess that counts for sitting around on my *** playing PS2 and smoking weed.

your argument fails to be relevant. the point is too many people sit on their caboose, while others work, and expect to receive a paycheck
that's ridiculous. they ought to, at the very least, perform some community service such as picking up cigarette butts around town or something. it's an outrage that most people work while others expect to be paid for doing nothing.

Yes.
Democrats either work for the Government, or are on Welfare.
(Sure, you can always find a few Democrats that will condescend to work in factories, and other jobs.)
BUT....... There is a Democrat Mentality that Society and Government should "Take Care Of Them".
(In other words, the Taxpayers should support Democrats.)
Just read the Democrats on Yahoo, and you'll see I'm right.
(jpenergy makes my point. Thank you!)

Poor and ignorant, often are the ones on welfare roles and oddly they are predominantly republican voters. Welfare roles are higher in the South, and they are often very conservative they also have lots of time for talk radio, Rush, and Bill, are quite popular with that set.
