Building muscle takes a long time, so giving yourself 3 months to do it is already setting yourself for failure (should've started a while ago). Creatine is only an option if you've been training for a good while and want a little edge, but creatine is not going to make a substantial difference to someone who is just starting out. Also, keep in mind that creatine is a "supplement" -- it supplements an already solid training program and mass-building diet.

If you want the most results in the shortest amount of time, hire a personal trainer for a few sessions to get an appropriate workout plan for yourself. Taking shortcuts will only frustrate and even thwart your efforts to get bigger and stronger. Besides, they are completely unnecessary to get big and strong. On the other hand, finding a good and appropriate program and eating enough are ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

Whats the rush? Gaining muscle is a slow evolutionary process gained by training AND resting in appropriate amounts.

There are so many supplements out there ranging from extremely dangerous to irrelevant that its very hard to know exactly what is best. Creatine can help produce muscle but like all 'quick fixes' it has side-effects some known and some unknown.

The body needs protein to build muscle but the Western diet has plenty of protein in it already. Extra protein and protein supplements are expensive and uneccessary. The body also needs vitamins and minerals to build muscle and so eating your fruit and veggies will actually help you build muscle (and the side effects from fruit and vegetables are very positive)

The best thing is to exercise regularly, eat a good balanced diet and be patient.

need more information to make an educated answer, but in general..

Creatine is good to take, Up your protein, you need to take in your bodyweight or more in grams of protein everyday. Eat 500 calories over you caloric maintainance level. If you are looking to see definition in your muscles that is a totally different thing.

Try amending your question, what are your specific goals, what kind of shape are you in now? are you looking just for more mass? Or more definition. What's your current diet? what's your age?

There are two supplements that have clinical evidence to back up their claims of aiding muscle growth: (1) creatine, and (2) whey protein. Plain old creatine monohydrate powder with no sugar added works just fine, but for whey protein you want something with as little fat as possible and at least 20g of protein in each scoop. Optimum Nutrition 100% whey protein is the choice of bodybuilders. Avoid GNC and Vitamin World -- overpriced and poor quality.

If you want to gain muscle quickly, here are some tips:

1. LIFT HEAVY. Do full-body workouts three times a week. For each exercise, you'll need to figure out how much weight you can lift one time properly and with good form (that's your one-rep max). When you work out, select a weight around 80% to 85% of your one-rep max and do 5 sets of 5 repetitions, taking a full two seconds to raise the weight and a full four seconds to lower the weight on each repetition. Rest for 90-120 seconds between sets.

2. EAT LOTS OF PROTEIN. Whatever your body weight is, eat at least that many grams of protein per day. It's best to get your protein from food, but you can supplement with whey protein, especially before and after workouts. WARNING: A higher protein diet makes your kidneys work harder, but there's an easy fix: Drink more water.

3. BALANCE THE REST OF YOUR DIET. Make sure your carb sources are mostly fresh fruits/vegetables and whole grain breads/cereals/pasta. Remember with carbs, "If it's white it ain't right," so avoid white sugar, white flour, white potatoes, and white rice as much as possible. Your fat intake needs to be mostly mono-and-polyunsaturated, so go for the leanest cuts of meat, lowfat or nonfat dairy products, and good sources of that healthy fat like avocadoes, eggs, fish, fish oil, flax seed, flax seed oil, nuts (any kind, but almonds are best) and olive oil.

4. PRE-AND-POST WORKOUT SHAKES. They'll REALLY help you build muscle. All you need is a blender, skim milk, whey protein, frozen fruit (strawberries are best), and whole grain oats like Quaker oats. The trick is getting the protein-to-carb ratio correct, so you'll have to read labels. Start with one cup of skim milk and one scoop of whey protein. For pre-workout, you want your grams of protein to equal your grams of carbs (1:1 ratio), so add enough frozen fruit and/or oats to get that ratio. Drink that shake 30-45 minutes before working out. For post-workout, you want twice as many grams of carbohydrates as protein (2:1 ratio in favor of carbs), so you'll need to add more frozen fruit and/or oats. Drink this shake ASAP after working out.

P.S.: If you use creatine, don't buy that B.S. story about how you have to take extra for the first few days to "load." Just follow the instructions on the container and you'll be fine.
