I mean, i can't go to sleep because I lay awake thinking of things like death... I seem a happy person, but i feel like everything is pointless because one day I will be an old man looking back, and therefore everything I do is worthless because it will be over, and once i look back on it, i see how much has gone.
I've just started year 11 - last year of compulsory education, and i just don't know where all the time has gone, it makes me feel depressed....

Like i said I'm generally a happy person, but recently, i feel like everything is pointless......

You probably feel like this because you realize that you're growing up, growing old, and growing tired. It's a difficult process. If you're generally happy then you have nothing to worry about. To make all of these "pointless times" meaningful, be outgoing. Do something crazy so that when you're an old man sitting there, looking back on your life, you can remember the time you went skydiving and smile.
Pick up a hobby that lasts a lifetime. If you're into sports, start playing some more to get your mind into the game instead of into the future. I completely understand what you're saying because I've been in your shoes. Right now, I feel like I have nothing going for me at home and I want to move out but I can't until I turn 18 [in a year] but I'm going to try a little harder to move out sooner because I'm just not happy here.
If you need someone to talk to you can message me or something.
The time hasn't gone anywhere, you've grown up, you've learned lessons. You just have to remember the lessons you've learned and how they got you to where you are today. Rejoice because you're almost done with school and you'll be able to start your own life with your own rules and eventually have your own family.
Congratulations on making it to year 11! I hope its surpasses your expectations.

Much of what you describe is a normal developmental change. You are at an age of great change and many great people have reflected on the meaning of life from an existential perspective and were motivated to examine their place and purpose in this universe. That is normal. However, the level of despair and thoughts of death may indicate a more pervasive problem. Is there anyone you can talk to about your feelings and your fears?

If these thoughts and depression continues, you may need to seek the help of a professional such as a doctor or therapist to help you sort through the feelings.

Death is inevitable and is what gives meaning to life. Just because something has ended does not make it pointless. What you have given to others will live on directly and indirectly after you shuffle off this mortal coil. That's why the only lasting purpose is contributing to the betterment of others in whatever of the many ways you can do it. I've found there's a certain amount of delusion necessary in order to be happy so I will continue to have some degree blind faith in the wisdom of what I have stated.

It's hard to believe, but I know how you feel. These days I have felt a lot like that, like there is nothing for you, like life is meaningless, like you will be forgotten in time and when you grow old you look with regret that time has passed. There is still time to change that, this is only uncertainty and fear, but you can still change that, make it so that, what you fear will happen, won't happen. And remember that there are people out there that have it far worse.
I for example have to leave in less the two week away from my hometown, leaving my friends and family to continue my studies. It's hard, but I try to not let the sadness consume me. YOU shouldn't either.

exercising greater, start up a clean activity, yet customarily, do no longer think of or examine too plenty. It makes each thing worse. sure, i think of you should do with some help, however the help you like won't be help - it would be for issues to paintings out ok for sure, for some thing to interrupt you out of the cycle you're in. The issues can get incredibly undesirable, and the lethargy sucks, yet you will desire to combat against them. do no longer apologise each and all of the time, supply up 2d guessing your self, and merely understand different individuals are no longer that distinctive and which you will possibly be chuffed, you could experience different issues different than for the type you experience now. you will desire to paintings at it to verify that that's no longer the type you experience once you arise each morning for something of your existence. combat, yet understand the combat is with your self. the ecosystem would have brought about you to develop into like this besides the undeniable fact that it is you who has to dig your way out, because of the fact the previous and any apologies you may deserve are long at the back of you. Use your physique as a plenty as you could to grant your concepts a relax. attempt and get a stability in existence. Please.

Maybe you should find something that isn't pointless. Make a difference that will matter. Perhaps someone needs your help. You are still young and have your whole life ahead of you, get out and do something with your life, and don't live with regrets.

U should find something u have interest in doing at least it will keep your mind occupied. If you are religious go and speak to someone at the church or mosque or something. If not maybe you need to speak to a counsellor or someone. Think back what made u lost faith in life and the you can go from there.

I think its pointless to think that everything is soo worthless. Yes its a fact of life that 1 day we all have to die , but why do you want to sacrifice your this moment in all these thoughts. Enjoy life .....you are blessed to be a happy person....there are soo many here who are soo depressed.....make someone feel happy....that would add a lot of worth to your life.
Good luck!!!

It's a pretty common way to feel sometimes, but most people don't talk about it, so good for you for reaching out.

It kinda sounds like you might have too much time on your hands. That's often when one can spiral into a depression - too much time to think - y'know?

Try to force yourself into social activities, even if you don't feel like it (especially if you don't feel like it), and pray. It really does help.

I wish you the best.
