A/V cables have yellow, red and white plugs. Yellow is video, red and white are sound. Component cables carry only video (A/V means audio/video) in its color components, red, green and blue. They cannot be used interchangeably.

A/V Input Cables are suitable for Standard Defination Video devices. Which have a video and a audio jack
component is different from that. it is for High Defination video components. it has no audio jack, it has 3 jacks for RED(R), GREEN(G), BLUE(B) or RGB signals i/o.
