The other day, I was at the post office and I saw something about the military, the draft I think. Is there anything new about, like you are put into the draft like it used to be?

No, the draft has been reinacted.

But when you turn 18, you must register for the selective services. Which could 'potientially' by used, if the federal government requires the draft be inacted.

There is no draft, but males 18 and over still have to register with the Selective Service. The U.S. military does not want a draft because they believe volunteers make better soldiers.

suitable now the draft isn't an determination. i've got self belief it replaced right into a mistake to totally drop it at the start. it would go away us with so lots extra constructive determination for human beings to serve. Nam vets weren't nicely dealt with and coloration did no longer make countless distinction. For those people who've served a log time interior the provider is acquainted with its no longer the colour of a persons' dermis that counts it the guy it quite is wearing that dermis that counts. there is probably no longer a draft now yet that does no longer mean it heavily isn't reinstated sometime interior the destiny. choose of the rustic is what counts

Damn, don't they teach kids anything in school these days, completely oblivious to the world around them.

Its actually kind of sickening. Trust me kid, if there were a draft, you would have hear of it. What you're reffering to is selective services. You need to register at the post office once you turn 18. Tell your friends. Or you could just man up and join, then you wouldn't have to worry about a draft.

No, they have not. It was probably a recruiting letter or something along those lines, but it most likely asked you if you wanted to join the army in the sheet.

I hope the draft never comes back.

No, if they reinstated the draft, it'd be pretty obvious. Lots of whining on TV, a big ruckus being kicked up, that sort of stuff. If it happens, you will know.
