I Am trying to find a upscaling DVD player that plays 720p and 1080i through component cables. My TV does not have HDMI inputs. Any good suggestions? And if you recommend one have you had personal experience with it?

If your TV has no HDMI, then you can't use an upscaling DVD player (copy protection issues make HDMI mandatory)

I don't know about your TV as to the inputs. I bought a Samsung 52" DLP TV. It has a DVI input, as well as HDMI and component. I bought a Samsung DVD player that has DVI output. The CD player converts any DVD I play to DVI so everything I watch is HD. My grandsons XBOX plugged into the component interface is HD. Check around and you may be able to find a DVD player that will work for you. BESTBUY is a good place to start. It will cost some money to get what you want. My DVD player was about $400.00.
