The media, a bunch of whores anyway, is NOT bashing Craig because he's gay. They're bashing him because he is
a G-D hypocrite.
He spent a lot of his career bashing others, Clinton, for example, he called a nasty, naughty Boy. Hello? Clinton wasn't cruising cops in an airport public bathroom.
Craig was touting "family values" ... and what do you think his wife and children are doing tonight? Family values discussions around the kitchen table?
The ACLU is an organization formed to protect the rights of citizens against oppression and deprivation of their civil rights under the U S CONSTITUTION. (Don't like the constitution, well, there are lots of places where they don't have any civil rights. Take Saudi Arabia, for example, where the day you are born you are automatically a Muslim. Freedom of religion, no way.
What the H does this have to do with oppression?
This is about yet another closeted gay man in a position of power who has used that position to scandalize American citizens who are gay.
What more do you need to know?
That he didn't mean all those things he said?
That he really isn't against gays having the same rights as the rest of us?
That is a perfect example of the whole Republican Joke Party.

Um, why would they do that? We do have freedom of the press. We don't have a right not to be bashed for getting arrested for trying to have anonymous gay sex in a public bathroom. Or is that part of the Bill of Rights that I missed?

When the govt gets involved.
The ACLU only gets involved when the govt violates the constitution -- that's the only time that they need to get involved and the only cases within their purpose -- defending the constitution from govt infringement.
Until then, it's individuals and companies expressing their own opinions about Craig -- and that's not a constitutional issue, so there is nothing for the ACLU to do.

Hang on, this is not about gay bashing. This is about Craig, a filthy old man with sexual problems and who is married and still wanting sex with any stranger - even with a man! Craig is a sicko who just can't keep his pants on! There are too many Repugs with sexual problems looking for prey to gratify their sexual urges! And they try to put on a Biblical Cloak to hide their sexual and perverted desires!
Real gay men don't pretend to marry women and screw on men and women. Real gay men live with male gay partners. Sick pedophines should never be regarded as gay or straight, but as perverted monsters who go for any gender for sexual gratification.
Remember that Craig is a married man who probably see sex with his wife is not gratifying enough to let him go hunting for sexual prey. Unfortunately, he picked the wrong victim and was caught red-handed digging his own dirt! Who knows? Monsters, like him, would probably seek out dogs to gratify themselves, too.
Let us not be stupid to think that dirt like Craig and Foley are gays to bash on. They are sick married men with peverted sexual problems. It's a shame that radical Christians are in denial that they do have married Christians among them with extreme sexual problems. If they keep up their denial, how can America save its young for becoming bait to these sicko beasts who probably share a church pew every Sunday with unknowing Christian folks!
