Apparantly it is normal because there is a problem with childhood obesity at the moment.

It may be puppy fat, I don't know I never had that, but it wouldn't hurt to try and work some of it off.

There is a test that you can do. Grab your skin on your side at waist level and if you can pinch 2 inches between you thumb and first finger you have too much fat. Unfortunately there are large numbers of kids that are overweight. You do loose some fat as you mature, (Having a girl friend does wonders) but you have to exercise and watch your diet for too much carbs and fat.The diet that most people use every day is tough eat and not gain weight. Watch your soda intake, try to not eat pizza d burgers every day. you have to watch your diet and do the exercise to slim down. Lifting weights is a great way to trim down. You probably will gain muscle mass where you look soft now, and you might not lose weight as you gain muscle so don't worry about that. Now is a perfect time to trim up, as you realize your problem, You won't have as much trouble lifting weights, because that is something you can do anytime, unlike jogging. They had a study with people 65yrs old and up with weights 3 times a week, and they all lost some weight but they all lost fat and gained muscle tone and they had better bone density. You can get a of weight at the used fitness re sellers, or pawn shops cheap. You will change your body d if you want you can keep how you do it to your self.

In my opinion, you should wait until you are 15 before you start lifting weights. However in the mean time, you can start burning that fat with good cardio. Jogging/running, hiking , and biking. When I was 14-15 I went from a bit chubby to a killer 6-pack because I raised BMX and joined the wrestling team. stuff like that will get you healthy.

yes it's normal, but if your overweight you may want to watch how much you eat and start exercising because obesity is the number one death in America for kids and teens. Also you will see a little weight gaining when you enter your puberty stages. it
s all normal just don't let it control you.
