They outsourced all their jobs. They fired a software developer after making him train his foreign replacement and he committed suicide in their parking lot. Most Americans hate them for giving credit and mortgages to illegals.

My local B of A is located in a fairly large city and there are several branch offices in that city. Each one has various ethnicities working there but I have never come across one that didn't speak English well. The rare occasion I need to call Customer Service, I've always spoken to someone who speaks English well. Some of the tellers are bi-lingual but they all speak English well. There are several other banks with branches nearby. If B of A had no English-speaking tellers they would lose a lot of customers. B of A has been my bank since I first started earning a paycheck in 1976. I have no complaints specific to B of A.

Bank of America does not out source the jobs. You have to keep in mind that we live in one of the most diverse countries in the world. It would be illegal if bank of America did not hire some one because they had an accent. I speak English. You cant tell me that you have never came across some one that had an accent or spoke a different language. Our country is a melting pot of different cultures and languages that is why it is the Bank of America.

I don't bank at Bof A anymore. My credit card company has merge with them, and I'm waiting to use up my points before switching. As for why people hate them, and since your in the imigration section, it is in part becasue they are now giving Credit card to illegal immigrants. I see A BIG problem with that. I had a coworker. He is a Filipino. He has a heavy debt and is being harrassed by credit agency. On the other hand, he bought a house in the Filipines, worth over 200 thousand dollars. THis is when the average house cost $300,000 in Los ANgeles. I asked if he was planning to ditch America and move back to the Philipines, to ditch his debts, and he smiled.

THink of the illegal immigrants and what kind of ties they have in this country, and all the unpaid debts they have when they are deported. ALso think of who's going to pay for it.

I don't know why your friends complain of B of A. I bank at a heavily hispanic area, and everyone speaks English and the people I see who works in B of A seem disporportionately white.

I just read an article from the paper today where B of A was wanting to buy out LaSalle bank. It's definately a bad move. 10,500 lost jobs. Revenue lost $789 Mil. Taxes Lost $48 mil

But their considering it. One question they need to address to some of these people is the criticisms regarding their fees and their lending record in minority and hispanic communities.

Alot of these housing loans and these credit cards and all this stuff is going to people who don't have a decent credit background or any at all and they are soaking them with fees and high interest rates. Now some may see this as a "favor" but the fact remains if they aren't paid it's the rest of us who end up suffering the consequences. Either higher rates or not being able to get loans or credit cards without "perfect" credit ratings and a heck of alot more loopholes to jump through. Not to mention it's going to put these people......if they choose to stick around.....a real hard road ahead getting out of this mess.

I will not bank with them and it makes me angry that especially illegals think that just because we don't support this we are somehow racist. Trust me......having the credit people after you is a relentless living nightmare and excuse me for not supporting a company who is feeding their pockets with their ignorance on what exactly they are getting themselves into.

Not to mention this bank opening a door for the potential for a ton of debts in which all they have to do is run for the border when their debt catches up with them and leave us to deal with the mess.

Hey....they suckered me when I was young with credit cards and such and not an ounce worth of money sense and I got myself in bad shape. I didn't have anything let alone a dime to even try and file bankrupsy.....it took me YEARS to finally get it paid off. Every last stinking dime. Nobody bailed us out for unfairly targeting college students. Not to mention, at that time, you couldn't even cash a check if you couldn't provide a credit card number. So for a bank to start this fiasco all over for people who aren't even citizens........it's simply disgusting. Make sure you ask for a cigarette after their done with you.

I think your friends are talking about their customer service department and possibly their credit card division. My wife and I recently had a bout with them because we cancelled their card and they allowed some company to charge it 8 months later. We fought with them for a while, each time talking to someone more ignorant and belligerent than the one before. Eventually they "recancelled" the card, though they don't supply confirmation numbers, so who knows if it really is cancelled- we'll find out later I guess.
But I simply won't do business with a company like that- and I tell everyone I can about them.

I don't know which bank they are using, but the bank is not required by law to have by-lingual employees. I suggest you tell your friends to learn to speak American english since the are in the USA.

You have bad friends. All of the people at Bank of America that I have dealt with, speak English. There is nothing wrong with Bank of America, they are a great company.

Someone is claiming that if you are from America, no matter WHAT language you speak, you speak "American". There is no such thing as someone from America that speaks "English".

Using this logic
If you are from Mexico, you speak "Mexican".
If you are from Guatemala, you speak Guatemalan.
If you are from Honduras, you speak Honduran.
If you are from Panama, you speak Panamian.
If you are from Costa Rica, you speak Costa Rican.
The only people that speak Spanish are from Spain.

If you are from Canada, you speak Canadian. You do NOT speak English, French, or any other language.

This is not my claim!! Merely attempting to follow someone's "logic".
