I see all this hubbub and high polling numbers for Fred Thompson but I have yet to see any info regarding his views, plans, policies, etc. Are you supporting him because he's an actor on Law and Order and Hunt for Red October or his politics? Please explain exactly why you support him and what his views are because I cant find anything about how he wants to actually run this country if elected.

EDIT: Please keep it to Republican side issues and not partisan mud-slinging! I dont want to read about how he is better than Hillary or Obama. Why is he better than Paul, Romney, Huckabee, etc. for the Republican nomination?

As you can see... None of the people who have posted an answer to your question has the answer either. Point well taken. Not one person posted a link or anything. I wonder why?

I don't support him. He's a lazy bum, and look what happened the last time America put an actor in the White House. Lies, more lies, and even arms for hostages. The middle class was left for dead, hemorrhaging from the rectum from getting screwed so hard, and so often.
As bad as it was, it still isn't as bad as the last time the son of a former President also became the President. Man, that really sucked! Hope we never make THAT mistake again!. . . .

Don't know yet. He's not a candidate. When he is, I'm sure he'll articulate his views. At this point, I simply like the guy and from what I've heard of him, my impression is that his views are genuinely conservative, a characteristic sorely lacking in the Republicans of today. But I could be wrong. If he throws his hat in the ring I'll wait and see what his position is on the issues facing America today.

Look for that same info about any of the other candidates and you'll likely come across the same result. They Just say we need to change health care, they dont say how we need to fix it. We have to find a way to get out of this war, it is the general statements like this that piss me off. We just need to make real plans in general. How am I going to buy gasoline to go to work tomorrow? I dont have plan for that either.

I'm with you. Don't know what his views are or why the Reps seem to go crazy over him.

Best I can figure is that he seems to best represent the "none of the above" bloc.

When he gets in the race and has to start taking stances, his popularity will wane quickly.

I don't support his views. He has been out of Washington too long and I don't believe he has a good pulse on America. I think he plays well to the public and will continue to do so for a short while but in the end his political base will not stand up pushing him out of the nomination.

Thanks for asking.

Not that I am supporting him, but I can tell you that he's not a socialist like Bilary, and Obama is a bigotted bafoon who's playing his white supporters. Fred HAS GOT TO BE BETTER than those idiots.
He made some mistakes while serving, he has openly admitted this and should I choose to support him, this would be a good place to begin. He is at least learning. Billary learned nothing from her socialist HMO foibles.

Thompsom was the sort of Senate lawyer who would run to the White House with a fresh roll if Nixon needed somebody to come wipe his . . . er . . . nose.
