Hey!
I am writing a story.
Here is the basic plot: 2 kids move to a city that turned out to be haunted.

Questions:
What would be the best names for the two kids?
Also, what city would be the best for a haunted city?

Thanks.... and please help!!

Well, not the whole city will be haunted.
Just tell me names to some cities that might be haunted and would go well.

Slow down!! You need to do a LOT more homework than that before you start writing. 2 kids tells me nothing. Have you done detailed character studies? Have you fleshed these kids out and given them full lives? Do they have pasts? Do they have dreams? What are they like?

And a whole city is haunted? Wouldn't someone kind of notice that before? Why do they move there? With whom?

You have a scenario. You have no plot. Your plot is the spine of your story. Subplots and backstories shoot off of it.

What is the conflict? What is going to happen to these kids? What are the solutions? How are they going to handle it? What is the resolution? How are they going to change it? Or are they?

You need strong character studies and then you need a great outline with your main plot running through the story like a spine and some good strong subplots and backstgories. Who else lives in the town? Are they ghosts? If not, why are they still there? I mean wouldn't someone kind of notice if Orlando Florida suddenly became haunted?? Ya think?? Lots of people go there.
When you have done all your background work, then start writing. Right now, you don't have much to go on. At this point, their names are really meaningless. Call them Jack and Jill. You can always change them when you know more about them and can select names that suit them.

About 80% of what an author does is homework and preparation for writing. You do not just jump into it. Pax- C

New Orleans is definitely a haunted city, as for the kids names use your favorite names or parents names.

Your story sounds great. You are very creative so it will be easy for you to just let the names come to you and make up the names of your characters. As for the city, I would just make up the name of a city. If you get a chance, please check out my website at http://www.rubysbooks.i8.com. I created the names of my characters and the names of the places in my book.

Conner and Rachel.

Raccoon City? (Sorry. Could not RESIST! lol)

I would use any name that comes in handy. They did have a town named Silent Hill. Maybe you could use a name that instills apprehension and fear.
