Hydrogen bombs don't really hurt the Earth; they could level a forest but nothing permanent.
And Atomic weapons despite all the conspiracy theories the radiation levels return to normal 15-20 minutes after initial blast. 5 minutes after the radiation levels are not high enough to kill. So no permanent damage their either.
However a Nuclear weapon the radiation can last for an hour or so and if it's a minute man it can poison ground water. But after 6 months the ground water would be clean. So really we aren't doing anything to The Planet.
Oh and Nuclear winter..... Not possible Because During the Clinton administration many Nuclear weapons were completely dismantled. Nuclear Winter was calculated saying that every Nuclear weapon during the cold war if fired within ten minutes of each other would cause enough debris to block out the sun.

You need to worry more about Biological and chemical not nuclear.

EDIT:
Oh by the way No Weapon has ever destroyed an entire city.
Nagasaki and Hiroshima less than 1/3 destroyed. Still horrible devastation but not the entire city. Your link claims "an entire city"

No use "hating" them, that's childish and pointless. Better to recognize them for what they are and do what we can to keep them under control and out of the hands of terrorists and madmen.

Yes. I tend to come apart when they go off. I am also allergic to bullets. I break out in holes when hit by them. I found that out while serving in Viet Nam.
