A stepbor/sis is someone who might be adopted or comes from the marriage of your mom/dad to another that has children and are not blood related.
A halfbro/sis is someone related by blood from either your mom or dad if they remarried and had other children.

A step-brother or sister is someone who is a sibling thru marriage (not a blood relative). A half brother or sister is a sibling that shares one parent with you (ie same father / different mother) and are a blood relative.
