The projector I bought says it throws a 60" diagonal picture on the wall and thats all it says and I was wondering if this size screen, even though it is square, would work for me?

60x60 gives you ~84 inches diagonal (60 times the square root of 2) so you are fine.

You can also move the projector closer to or farther from the wall to decrease the image size, but there will be limits to how well the projector can focus at those distances. (hence the maximum 60' rating)

Nowadays you want 16:9 aspect ratio. What bothers me is that it does not give you any other information other than 60" X 60". If it were a credible manufacturer it would give you more than that. I would stay away from this thing and go to a better brand. Try NEC projectors.

Also remember that the distance from the screen or wall gives you the size of the screen. That could be the biggest size that it goes which means that you will have to put it far from the wall or screen which means that the image will be dimmer than you may want it to be.

I'd be very surprised if it wouldn't. In addition to moving the pj back and forward to adjust the image size most pj's today have a zoom feature that will allow you to make the picture bigger or smaller.

That screen will work, but as someone else pointed out if you're pj can do 16:9 you really want to try to go with a wide screen if possible. If you're so inclined you can easily build your own screen with a nice frame and a high quality projection screen for about $150.

Hi. Does your projector have widescreen capability (16:9) or is it just normal (4:3) In widescreen mode your image would be 60 ins. wide by 33.7 ins. high (1.78:1) which would give you a 70 inch diagonal image. But if it is only 4:3 this would not matter.
