Much easier to track a 24 hour clock in a database than having to specify whether something is AM or PM.

The math is easier if you come to work at 11 AM and leave at 4 PM it is hard to compute that as 5 hours but in military time you would have 11 to 16 so it is one step math. Also some might start at 7AM and some at 7PM so your payroll clerk would have to keep checking the AM or PM on each line.

They do not ALL do that. If your company is using a spread sheet to keep track of hours spent on a project, it is easier to set up calculations if the time is done military style.
