Okay, free advice...always worth every penny you paid for it...but here goes: If it's not serious...DON'T WRITE HIM A POEM@! If you want to scare him off, go ahead, write a poem and see how fast he bolts...unless he's already in love with you...are you willing to take that chance? It doesn't sound like it.

Look, if you like him and want him to know that you do, but that you want to take it slow, then just take him to dinner or simply tell him that you've grown to like him very much in the short time you've known him. Trust me, I had a girl tell me that once and I flushed from my head to my toes...because I really liked her and when I heard what she said, it gave me confidence to move forward. Don't complicate something so simple...and this is advice coming from someone who lives and breathes poetry...so trust me on this...just tell him you enjoy his company, don't give him a poem until you're ready to call it "love".

Dear Friend,
These words are not my own,
I don't know what to say.
I love having you talk to me,
and it gets harder every day.

So I guess what I want to do,
Is see you once again.
I want to see your smile, and
have you tell me I am your friend.

We can go for a walk in the park
Go home when it's dark,
You can walk me to the door,
And than I will tell you once more
How much I love to talk to you.

I like you very much, you know,
Although it doesn't always show,
And think about you fondly, too,
And like it when I'm near to you,
I hope you think I'm not too bold,
To let these feelings now unfold,
I like you very much, you know,
And now I know you truly know.

We've just met, but I wonder too,
do you like me, like I like you?

Please say like me, and who may know,
We may just see, a true love grow.
