Yes, it seems so. The Republicans have two ideas that when proven false, they keep shouting louder and louder, so as two avoid truth.
The first is the make the pie bigger effect. This is the idea that rather than take money from the rich and give it to the poor, just give everyone more.
The second is the trickle down effect. This is the idea that if the rich get richer, eventually so will the poor.
Of course it both amount to 1 thing, THE RICH GET RICHER.

There is absolutely no question in my mind. Republicans talk about all kinds of things, but if you go by deeds, not words, EVERYTHING they do has the primary purpose of concentrating wealth and power.
For instance, they talk about reducing taxes but all their proposals actually work to shift the burden of taxation off the backs of the rich and onto the middle class. Taxes paid mostly by the rich--inheritance, capital gains, etc.--they consider somehow -immoral-. Many neo-cons have advocated doing away with income tax and substituting a national sales tax, the most regressive tax there is.
Also, we were all taught in school that capitalism is a co-equal partnership between capital and labor but the Republicans only work for capital. They hate labor unions, and any laws designed to protect the worker. They always insist that when corporations and businesses do better, workers will do better too. But if workers don't do better, it's -their- problem.
Most amazingly (and amusingly) Republicans claim to care about 'values' and 'morality'. Individually they are about as amoral and corrupt as any group of people you will meet. Do religious people never notice how these people actually behave?
I don't know who said it first but it's true: To vote Republican you have to be either a millionaire or a fool! 8^)

why don't people want to do their part?
I make in betwen $24k- $26 a year not alot at all, and I'm a Republican. I do know someone making $125k a year is outting alot more money into taxes than I am, and that's even if they get a break or not, everyone wants a free ride they are already carrying everyone other people's loads tax wise.
People who make $125k or a million all have expenses like you and I do, so when they have to pay more it still hurts them, maybe not the really really rich, but this effects working people who make $100k even and they might be just making it with a business and paying extra taxes already, if that break halps them stay in business and helps the economy then good.
I do think more needs to be done for the middle and lower classes, but if people making alot of money are getting punished for doing well, than why should anybody even have incentive to do well, and if they don't have incentive to do well, that will ruin our economy.

Well, the rich is certainly who get the tax breaks and all the other breaks for that matter when Republicans are in office. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer and the classes get farther and farther apart.

i live in Cincinnati they wish to build news schools all over the place. how do they do that they tax us Republican and build the new schools and still they do not get results. it like building a new ball park still does not make the team better. what Republicans want is for all to improve there lives and become rich. Democrat want to take from the rich and give to the poor and that keeps them poor. a rich man knows how to become rich. give the poor man the tools and the education he will become rich also.

Talk about buying democrat spin hook line and sinker. I am far from rich (at least in my consideration) I make less than $60,000 per year. I don't vote Republican to give a few very wealthy a free ticket. I don't want lousy schools for the poor. It is corporations, not governments or parties that give golden parachutes. As far as jobs moved abroad, look at who signed NAFTA, though in the long run I agree it will make us all prosper. The less we spend on government beaurocracy, the more we have for ourselves (less taxes).

Unforutnately both parties have become that way now... You cannot single out someone based on their party affliation, gender, race or religon.. You have to look at where they stand on the issues...
Ron Paul, is known to be an advocate for the middle class and poor.. he voted to tax the rich higher and the poor and middle class lower, GUESS WHAT Hillary and Barack did not....... he also happens to be republican.. Any one who has big name corporate sponsers are generally going to only look out for them.. There are only three canidates that have the integerity and the idea of helping the middle class and poor.. they are Dennis K., Ron Paul and Mike Gravel, don't take anyone else's word bc they are just making faulty promises
