Because they do not understand how ironic they're words and actions are.

Dems say THIS administration has been all those things in certain areas. They do not claim that government is inherently incapable of providing for it's people (a rather stupid argument to make given that we have such things as roads and fire departments).
They do understand the reality that America's health system is twice as expensive as the developed world average and yet produces the worst results in the developed world.
Therefore they are advocating universal insurance - NOT the nationalizing of health care.
All this information has well and truly been discussed so it is astonishing how either ignorant or dishonest (I will let you choose) you can be as to misrepresent the proposals Dems are putting forward the way you do.
BTW what is the Republican solution to an American baby being more likely to die before the age of 5 than a Cuban one and twice as likely as a Czech one? I thought Republicans were supposed to care about babies - or is that only until they are born?

Government is not inherently bad, corrupt, ineffective, etc, but THIS one is. Remember the response to Hurricane Katrina? Remember the planning...the LACK of planning, that went into the Iraq War? Government is a tool and like any tool it can be used well in the hands of a competent leader, and it can be used badly in the hands of an incompetent leader like Mr. Bush.

As to health care, please see "Sicko". As Michael Moore says at the start of his film, it is not about the people who do not have health insurance, but about those who do, and how their lives get totally wrecked when their health insurance companies deny their claims. It could happen to you very easily. Why in the name of God would you stand up for a system where health insurance CEO's become Billionaires based on their ability to let people like you die in the streets without health care? See the movie. Learn.

Your question doesn't make any sense.
But since you are interested in health care I encourage you to watch this important documentary:

http://www.sicko-themovie.com/

It uncovers the horrible shape healthcare in this nation is in and explains how much better it could be. The problem is that a few callous uncaring people/corporations are having too much power over the whole health care system so that the system is more for making the rich richer than it is for helping people.

In our great nation all citizens should have health care provided for them. It is time for this evolution. We are a nation of caring people, not sharks.

The only reason the dems say that about the government is because bush is in the white house and they're not which makes them mad. aren't they part of the government? doesn't that mean they are calling themselves. . . oh well, any way, they want national health care because:
1. they need it.
2. they want people who don't have it to vote for them.
3. it gives them another excuse to raise taxes so they can have more money for themselves.

i would prefer not to have more taxes. i had a job this summer and had a lot taken out of it for taxes: federal, state, social security and something else. about 22% of my income went to taxes. i need money badly to pay for a car since my family isn't very wealthy. more taxes for something i don't need wouldn't help me very much.

Because both parties are idiots. BOTH OF THEM. The sooner society realizes that, the better.

For example, you have Bush as a republican, Kerry as a democrat. Who is better? NEITHER, THEY ARE BOTH IDIOTS. People need to stop voting based on party, vote based on the actual candidates that you want to vote for. Makes sense doesn't it?
