What information is needed to compute an individual's oxygen demand?

This is a good question and I have been trying to find out more about it. I will star it and check back later. You might also consider putting it in biology.

I have found out that the average adult will breathe about 35 pounds of air in a 24 hour period and I think about 8 pounds of that is oxygen. What I don't seem to get an answer to, is how much of that 8 pounds is used, ie converted to CO2.

Hope we get some answers.
