im not gonna entirely disagree with you, but i dont think they should be banned completely, old peolpe cant help the fact they're slow. so they can just go about their business. pushchairs on the other hand. some mum's (notice i say SOME not ALL) need to be more aware of other people, and not crash into the ankles or suddenly change direction and swing a pushchair in front of you as you're overtaking them, without even so much of an apology. Nor should they think that they own the pavement and that everybody should move out of their way. (excepting narrow pavements, that would mean them goin out in to the road. in which case they have the right of way)

How do you know the old people have all week to shop? They could need to be taken to the shops by someone who is at work all week or a large number of grandparents look after grandchildren while their mums work.
Or because of their age they can only carry a few things they need to shop 4 to 5 times a week
or they live alone the only time they see other people is at the shops.
The big supermarkets are open 24 hour do your shopping after work

You may get to be an octogenarian one day yourself, how will you will feel when some hotshot knocks you over by barging into you, for being in the way. Many old folk can't get out much because of lack of transport, some bus services may not be that frequent so that they shop when they can.
Many of course could still be working, so have the same amount of time as you to get things done.

Hoo, you're filled with resentment, aren't you?
Well, guess what? Old folk and people with push chairs have as much right to be there on weekends as you do.
Who knows? Maybe the weekend is the only day they can get out to shop too. But whether it is their only day out or not, they deserve courtesy from other shoppers.
What makes you think that your days to get out to the shop are any more important than theirs is?
Maybe if you were courteous to them, you might get courtesy from them in return.
The day will come, if you're lucky, that you, too, will become a doddering octogenarian.

I always get old women blatantly pushing in front of me in queues. And they give me a look when they do it, not sure why.
I definately hate women who use buggys as a weapon. What is that about anyway? I have a child and I never used the buggy in that way, I wanted to look after the thing so it would last and I don't want my child smacking into people.
My ankles get bashed by a particular woman at the school - she knows who she is - I will bash her car when I find out which one it is!

i think you are an eejit! have you looked at it from the other side that young mums may work as well during the week and want to do their shopping at weekends or wait for their partners. Maybe they are fed up with pratts like u in such a hurry racing around and cutting in front of pushchairs because you cant be bothered to wait, and thus tripping over them rather than being rammed by them.
i have never rammed..unintentionlly or deliberatly...anyone with my pushchair, what annoys me is when u are pushing a push chair and lazy gits who cant be arsed to use the manual doors in shops use the automatic ones and keep me waiting, or who cram into a lift cause they cant be arsed to walk downstairs, and inconsiderate **** who use mum and child spaces at the supermarket cause they dont want to walk too far and force me and my newborn to have to struggle getting in and out of the car without scratching the one next to us and then run across the car park in the torrential rain ending up with baby screaming cause he got wet!!!!
maybe if you started being more polite and less aggressive ppl would react in the same way to you..oh and by the way my child is not a brat!!!!!!!!!

I don't completely agree but I don't understand why people who don't work (such as seniors and stay at home mums) and have all week to go shopping or go to the bank etc insist on waiting until saturday morning.

I dont so much mind the old folks because they are unable to move any faster. However, mothers with pushchairs think they have the right to just batter on ahead, knocking into whatever stands in their way. They should make them either carry their children or, cut down on child obesity rates and make the lazy little sods walk.

Gee I don't know. Maybe on weekends they should create HOV lanes for wheelchairs and walkers, the way they have them here in NY for carpoolers. Then the wheelchair and walker folks will have their own separate place to walk that way they are not taking up your precious time trying to live their independent lives.

Just remember you might be that "doddering octogenarian" one day in the distant future !!! and are you saying all mums who push prams around at the weekend don't work during the week ???
In case you are wondering I am neither an octogenarian or have any prams to push around , but I don't believer in banning ordinary folks on normal day to day business
