To me, it all depends on how long you'll have to sit for and if you get any breaks. I don't know anything about piano exams. I'm 33 almost 34 wks preg with my first and it is hard for me to sit for an hour straight at work. I have to get up and move around and stretch out my muscles and usually go to the restroom. Not to mention the back pain and muscle cramps. Everyone is different. I hope the morning sickness goes away for you though. I was fortunate enough to not have it real bad in the beginning, I just felt sick, never actually "tossed my cookies" as someone else posted. My doc told me that he's found that if a woman has it easy in the beginning w/ morning sickness, that they will likely feel sick again around the 7 month mark. So far, he's been right. I've got that same feeling back.
Good luck with everything, if you can hold off on cancelling until a later date as far as the piano exams go, I would and just see how you are feeling. Everyone is different. Congrats on the little one!

I'm 56 and NEVER EVER heard the expression "COIN JUICE" what the heck IS that???? My experience with pregnancy---I had morning sickness 24 hours a day right through the entire 9 months INCLUDING DURING LABOR... I was ALWAYS tossing my cookies... I spent more time in the bathroom at work then I did at my DESK... and every third contraction during labor I had to reach for "the bucket"....Most people do NOT go through 9 straight months of hell like that....I was just "lucky" I guess. I would keep the date for the piano test and you can always cancel it as the time approaches IF you are not feeling well by then and reschedule it after the birth---HOWEVER, you will not have much time to do ANYTHING after your child is born UNLESS you have a nanny or a relative who is willing to come in and take care of the baby every so often so you can have FREE TIME.... I didn't have "FREE TIME" or any help at ALL for 18 YEARS...and I ended up raising my baby alone as my EX HUSBAND turned out to be a schmuck who wanted NOTHING to do with OUR BABY after he was born.. never even paid a DIME in child support either... So, not that I'm spouting off here to let off steam---I'm just letting you know that ANYTHING can happen while pregnant AND after the baby is born so don't cancel anything until you know how you will feel closer to the date of the exam or whatever.... Oh I just read someone else's answer--coin juice is acid REFLUX???? wow we just always called it acid reflux---ask your doctor if you can take NEXIUM while pregnant--I had a severe case of reflux a few months ago and tore my esophogus all up because of it.. the nexium helped CURE the problem... I don't HAVE it any more.

Hopefully your morning sickenss will go away by the 3rd or 4th month and the metallic taste in the mouth should subside as well. If your morning sickness is keeping you from going to work and doing daily things you may want to consult your doctor about anti-nausea medication.
As for the piano exam, that's totally up to you, you may feel fine to take the exam by 8 months.
Good luck w/ your decisions

I think that in 5 months you will be fine. Usually morning sickness only lasts for the first trimester, only in a few cases does it continue, and if it does, talk to your doctor, he might be able to help. As for the acid reflux (coin juice?) take some tums. Just make sure you tell your doctor that you are taking them so he can write it down. Good Luck and congrats!

At eight months pregnant your little precious will be fighting your bladder for room in your tummy, so sitting for any length of time may not work out. Talk to your doctor about the metallic taste in your mouth. It could just be indigestion (heartburn) or it could be the beginning of acid reflux disease. I wish my first doctor had not blown me off and told me to take tums. My teeth are ruined!

Your morning sickness should be gone by then. You are not sick, just pregnant. If the morning sickness doesn't subside in the next month or so, go ahead and call it off. But you will be fine. Good luck with the baby!
