How many times are you going to ask this?

It's the Speedometer (needle that shows your speed) and not the Odometer (numbers that show how many miles are on your car).

Again...

It's the cluster connections, there are 2 connectors on the back of your cluster, each with 10 pins (2x5).

You'll need to remove the cluster and make sure that all the pins are connecting properly to the plugs that the cluster connects to.

All that is really needed to do this is clean the pins, make sure none are bent, and reconnect it. Normally all the cluster needs is to be taken out and put back in to make the connections work again.

This is a very common thing with the 1st Gen Neon (95-99).

If you cycle the key on and off three times to get your diagnostic codes, it may have a code 15 for no speed sensor signal, though it doesn't always set this code. I've seen them not even show up on a diagnostic scan tool and be bad.

An easy way to test it is if you have cruise control that was working and quit when the speedometer stopped working. That usually means the speed sensor is bad. Since you have a 5-speed transmission, this will probably be the only other noticeable symptom of a bad speed sensor.

To test the sensor off the vehicle with an ohmmeter, connect the meter to the 2 terminals on the sensor, and when rotating it (rotate it slowly), you should get 8 pulses of zero resistance with infinite resistance between each pulse for each complete rotation of the sensor's shaft. Anything else and it needs to be replaced.

The sensor is on the backside of the transmission near the output drive shaft. This is on the firewall side, held in place by a single bolt with a 2-wire connector, no speedometer cable.

When replacing with a new sensor, you'll have to take the gear off the old sensor and put it on the new sensor.

If the problem isn't your sensor, then check the wires going to for breaks, cuts, etc. If that isn't it, the cluster itself may have gone bad.

Most likely the transmission speed sensor has gone bad. If it is an automatic transmission, the car most likely will not shift correctly, it may go to "limp in" mode. With a manual you will not have that problem. A computer scan will tell you if the speed sensor is working!
