I'm a swimmer, and I've never had problems leaking while I'm wearing a tampon in the pool. But while I was swimming in the sea a few weeks ago I leaked into my suit, and I had just changed my tampon before I got into the water. I didn't even have an exceptionally heavy flow, but now I'm scared to get into the pool again once I have my next period! Could the salt water have had anything to do with it?? I can't imagine it would, but there's no other explanation...

Maybe your flow was just abnormally heavy at that one point. Salt water shouldn't affect it at all. I'm worn tampons in the ocean and have never had a problem. it was probably just a fluke.
