I was walking around in my local Walmart Supercenter today, as I do everyday (sic). It was decked out in red, white and blue and draped in US flags.

... yet every item I picked up said, "Made in China".

Now I hear that Intel is breaking ground on a state-of the-art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing plant in mainland China.

I need some good news. Someone cheer me up. Tell me again, how good the US economy is doing!???

Thanks President Bush... for shipping my sons and daughters to Iraq and my job to China.

Oh, well. I better pin my smilely face back on my blue vest and get back to work ...greeting all those nice illegal immigrants coming through the front door.

"Do you want a shopping cart, Señor?"

You are confused. Our businesses go to China because they are the "Rich" that socialists are constantly yelling about. That's what happens when socialism comes to a country. The rich, the job creators, the successful don't stay.

Why stay where you will pay more and more and people hate you? That would be silly.

They leave. We have to get the same things from China, now. Great job, socialists!

And worse, here the workers are taught to NOT expect merit pay, no special treatment for extra work, etc., in unions, and in socialized medicine (where they will get the money no matter what they do, so why work extra? Why not jack up the prices? NO COMPETITION!

Now as to Iraq, maybe you don't mind that they attacked our interests in Kuwait and that ally asked us for help when Iraq attacked them.

Maybe you don't care that Saddam publicly paid suicide bombers to attack another country (an ally, Israel).

Maybe you don't care that Saddam repeatedly attacked us during the decade long cease fire in which we delayed finishing him off so the U.N. could do the shoddy job they insisted we allow them to do.

But one thing makes me think you should strip those flags off your body and look at them a lot harder.

Saddam tried to assassinate one of our Presidents.

Who cares if it was our current President's father.

IT WAS ONE OF OUR PRESIDENTS!

Now maybe you've chosen sides. I certainly have. But if it's America's side, this sure isn't the way to show it.

The feelings I have for Walmart are almost identical to those I have for our sorry excuse we have for a President.
It all began with Clinton shipping American jobs over seas and when Bush took over the Presidential seat he finished what Clinton started.

Pathetic.

Consumers shipped "your" job overseas. Companies only produce and sell what people are willing to pay for. More expensive American products have always been available but the people have spoken and their purchasing trends have created demand for inexpensive goods. Inexpensive goods have allowed many companies to exist that would not be able too if they did not have access to inexpensive Chinese labor/materials. All of these businesses that have been created because we have access to China creates jobs, in many cases better paying jobs. You have to be willing to guage US labor needs and acquire the skills to fill them. etc...

shut up and deal with it...nobody wants to hear your whining just because you aren't willing to work as hard as a minority. Some people are actually going to earn their pay instead of expecting someone to hand them a paycheck every week just for showing up.
