I think that Bush did believe Iraq had WMD's as well as most of the Dems and the Clinton administration. Whether they did at the time of invasion is debateable but then again I am not privy to all information as well as the American people. So I dont go for the whole "Bush lied" game. Do I believe he is ignoring the will of the American people? Yes! Do I believe it is a no win situation? Yes! Now I do believe that there are evil people in this world who hate us and no matter what we do terrorism will always be a threat. It is something we should always guard against and sometimes take an offensive action when all other means have been exhausted. The life of every American citizen is precious and should never be taken advantage of. Although I do not agree the path we are taking I still love this country and what it can represent. This country use to be a beacon of hope to the world and maybe it can be that again.
Your thoughts?

I think we should stay strong and vigilant against terrorists. We can never let another 9/11 happen again. People are forgetting and it's sad.

The problem with George and his administration is that he had FURTHER information that depicted the Iraqi's and WMD's as being dubious at best.

One question that I would have asked myself is, if Saddam Hussein had a large cache of WMD, why did he not use them against the US in Desert Storm and then Jr's fiasco? If a massive foreign invasion was coming after someone like Saddam, a total narcissist, wouldn't you think that he would have authorized their use to abate the invasion(s)?

And the bigger problem is Dick. He's the one who coerced and cherry picked intelligence reports to suit the greater corporate agenda.

I applaud your love of country, but do not be mislead by these folks in the White House, past and present. They are all about the corporate, baby. And everyday Americans like you and I pay the price, not them.

It hardly matters why we invaded Iraq. It likely was a blunder, but President Bush seems prone to blunders.
The fact remains that the USA invaded Iraq and destabilized the country and the region in doing so. We must come up with a successful plan that will stabilize the country.
I don't see the Bush administration nor the current Democrats in congress capable of doing so.

I think they have been at war with us for 25 years and that 9/11 was a wake up call to those that were sleeping. Yes, we can be great again, when we unite together again like we did after 9/11 and grow a set that we need to get the job done. We will have to finish what they started or we will be finished by our own weakness and lack of intestinal fortitude. It sickens me to hear the derision an in fighting that has gone on in recent years.

Your words:

"The life of every American citizen is precious and should never be taken advantage of"

Until we can respect other cultures and believe that statement to be true for all beings we have no business being a world power. All life is precious and every culture has a right to it's own values even if contrary to our own.

We should only defend our own borders and those who are visibly under attack for unjust reasons. Presumptions make us all look like fools.

This country is still a beacon of hope to the rest of the world - look at the millions of illegal immigrants dying to get in. Whether our own media chooses to accurately portray our country or not, we are great.
I support our President because I am an American and I am proud to be - those who aren't can leave, no one is stopping you.

I try to consider the world as a community rather than nationalistic interpretations. The life of every person is of value. I don't think him as ignorant of the challenges. He is conniving and ruthless. Along with the entire administration, he's in the hip pocket of Corporate America and will cater to those supporters regardless of the detrimental effects on the world populace.

Bush wanted the WMDs so bad he could taste them and I believe he stretched the truth regarding all the reasons for going in to Iraq. Case in point, George Tenet telling him it was "slam dunk" (though he denies this).

Why can't the US keep to themselves and focus on problems at home, rather than attacking those abroad?
