It seems today that drivers on the road are completely oblivious to what was driving ettiquette. Traditionally the left lane is for passing, but now it it constantly hogged by "left-lane bandits" going under the speed limit. Even rig drivers whom are traditionally the best drivers on the road (no, I'm not a trucker) have been passing in the left lane and driving in the center lane. Granted with the volume of rude cars entering and exiting the highway it's probably safer there.
Another pieve is when the highway narrows down and people insist on racing up to the point where the lane closes and wants to mege then...and people let them in!
Where did our ethics and courtasies go?

That makes you sound like you are driving in Cincinnati..home of the rudest drivers that I have ever encountered, bar none.
I've driven cars in most of the U.S., parts of Mexico, and parts of Canada; through large cities and small towns and nowhere else have I found such rudeness as in the Cincinnati, Oh area.
Even rush hour in Brooklyn doesn't beat it.

I drive 60 miles on way every day and sometimes I see a trailer in the fast lane and not to mention that there are 6 lanes opeN! This is illegal but they don't care. I see women putting on make up and on the cell phone while driving ... going on the bumps constantly. It's bad, teenagers speeding up and down residental areas not caring if someone was to walk out on the road. The laws will have to change and we all will suffer because of a few idiots on the road.

i have driven for better than 32 years, and i have been in 26 states and several large cities. the worst drivers i have seen were in Albuquerque, NM. the most aggressive in the LA area. all in all we have no lane discipline, or manner when we drive. i have been in the process of passing several 18 wheelers one time on I-81 in Virginia. i had the cruise control set at 72(speed limit 65), while i was in the left lane a guy in a toyota pick up barreled up on me, tailgated me flashing his lights. it was not safe to pull in front of the trucks i was passing, they were too close together, and the left shoulder was not wide enough to pull over safely and let him pass, and VA state troopers are notorious from writing speeding tickets at 10 over the limit, and at night they were out in force. normally people would recognize that this is a no win situation, but the guy behind me kept pressing me. i moved into the right lane when it was safe to do so. i later noticed that he was getting a ticket.

people feel that they are in a hurry these days, and they feel that with the safety systems built into their cars, abs, traction control, airbags, etc. they can handle any situation that might pop up. they cant though, and often times they learn the hard way, after they have injured or killed someone.

I have been driving for almost 50 years....My guess is that over 90% of drivers don't use turn signals when changing lanes( and many even when turning at corners)..My fantasy is this" you die and go Heaven and Jesus is standing there with a clipboard; and guess what he is checking -your signal percentage-under 90%usage-oops, down you go.

Have a nice day.

Proper driving was the norm until some clown came up with ROAD RAGE.Now most of us do the best we can.We spent years learning to drive safely and with grace. Now people use ther cars and suvs to kill people who change lanes in front of them.Very sad for american drivers.

People are increasingly stupid and evil and there are more foreigners, who not only don't care to speak English, act as though there are no traffic rules. Try driving in Miami, if you doubt that...

Drivers are basically selfish people. myself included, we want to get where we want to go and we want to get there now, regardless of other drivers on the road
