Let it grow and don't use any chemicals on it, like dying or a perm. Normally it comes back in baby soft.

My hair went through several different stages when it started growing back. I bought some really nice shampoo and conditioner. I decided that since I had virgin hair I was gonna take care of it (my old hair was damaged from coloring and styling products).

At certain points I was using light weight gels that would sorta spike my hair. Looked really cute. At other points I would just wear a hat or scarf because I couldnt do anything with it. There were a few points were hair clips did well.

Basically I just had to let it grow out. Right as I got it to a length I liked I relapsed and lost it all again, but..

Good luck

Congrats on finishing up the treatments. No fun, I know from personal experience.

I'd go see my hair stylist now and let them start making recommendations. They could help by just keeping it shaped up a little as it grows out. They can also help with some suggestions for the right products to use.

My stylist was a great help to me. The chemo I had didn't cause me to lose all my hair, but it did thin it by probably 50%.

i would use baby shampoo-it has less chemicals and alcohol than any other shampoo. you should still be drinking an efficient amount of water to keep your system flushed. chemotherapy meds still work after treatment has stopped.
if you didn't lose all of your hair, what was left will eventually fall out as the new hair growth comes in.

good luck!

I would try some different hair cuts for a while. Be a bit wild and crazy and enjoy. Why not? You may never have the chance again.

I about to start chemo myself. Will have a shaving party. My sisters are teasing me about tatooing my head or dying my hair pink. I may not get that wild, but I know I will be making it fun for a while.

My daughter says that while she was on chemo therapy she was putting vitamin E oil on her head. So if you were wearing a hat that might get all over it. Her hair is coming back in thick now and she is doing well. She was diagnosed with Stage III C non hormonal aggressive breast cancer, 11/14 nodes positive! She has completed initial chemo and radiation and is on Clincal Trial of Avastin now because of aggressiveness and stage.

Talk to a hair dresser, ask if she knows of any one who has worked with individuals with regrowth after chemo. Otherwise, just let it grow, and enjoy.

Let it grow back before you do anything to it. My mom went through Chemo and her head tingled so she constantly rubbed her head. They say massaging your head with make the hair come back quicker! Congraduations on completing chemo!!
