You have about a 75% chance of being deployed, also depending on where your duty station is, the demand for your MOS and if there is a high retention for your MOS when contracts are being renegotiated. No, the war will not stop, this is something that will have to resolve over time, it is not being continued out of spite to Bush, and there is always a possibility of being sent to IRAQ, KOREA, GERMANY or anywhere global for that matter, talk to senior NCO's in your unit for support. That will help the most. Take care and good luck.

Lets look at your question in two parts
1. As outlined above your chances of being deployed are excellent. However, if you are planning on staying in the Army for more than one hitch you will want to serve a combat tour. Going to be hard to get rank without that in theater gong on your chest. The best thing would be to do some time in a line outfit and get your CIB that will give you a good chance of being first in line for schools or promotions
2. If the war is still going on after the November elections we will have one of two situations
A. Not much if any progress - In this case I think Bush will end the war just to prevent the winner from having the satisfaction.
B. Great improvement of conditions in Iraq. This is going to make it very sticky for the new administration to end the war abruptly. That would give them the responsibility of "losing all Bush had gained" and would look very dark for their chances for a second term. Remember that who ever wins in 2008 will start thinking about 2012 from day one.

if you don't want to be deployed, Psyops is the wrong choice. Even cooks are being deployed. We are at war.

War may end in Iraq. BUT Americans are deployed all over the world.

I will tell you straight forward, you will get deployed. Why are you running from deployment? You are in a very important MOS, and we use psyops ALL the time. If you are trying to dodge war, dont sign up, simple enough, we dont need cowards. War is our job in the military, why else sign up, you can get loans to pay for your college

Let's see, the Army just raised the age of recruits to 42, they're taking people with lower aptitude scores and criminal records (I guess that's a meaure of how popular this war is, except with bumper sticker patriots, that is).

So I'd say your chances of getting sent to Iraq are about 127%...good luck and god bless.

You're chances of being deployed are pretty high.

If you're scared, say you're scared.

We vote in the presidential election, but we obey the orders of the one elected, regardless of who we vote for.
