Anyone out there who has lost a lot of weight? Do you get treated differently now? In what way?

I have not lost a bunch of weight but I gained a bunch of weight due to a lot of medicine. Yes people do treat me very differently. I get looks like I should not be eating what ever I am eating. I get looked at when I grocery shop and get cookies and other junk---I HAVE KIDS-- people even say things to me, I am heavy but not that grossly obese.

I lost 79.5 pounds 4 yrs ago and my life changed dramatically. I went from an 18-20 to an 8-10. Since losing the weight I have even been treated differently by my own family. My mother went through some serious resentment of my weight loss but she is fine now. My skinny sister now talks to me and seems to think that her fat girl jokes are something that I find funny, she was also the one who said when she found out that my husband and I were expecting a baby "too bad, you'll probably gain it all back". I didn't!

Men pay attention to me now even lugging a little one with me.

I did learn a few things. If I hadn't lost the weight and gained self confidence I never would have become involved with my husband, men like confidence and kindness. I learned after a few months on weight watchers on line that it really isn't about the food. I struggled for the first couple of months and then it just clicked and I lost my weight eating Chinese and candy, I refuse to deny myself. I also learned that I am the same person with an extra 80 pounds as I am now. I also have learned that men and women are just plain nicer, more open and much more polite to an average size person in the personal and professional world.

My weight loss doesn't define who I am but the weight gain did. I let it do that to me.

I love my life now and I do go up and down 10 pounds but it is a managable 10 pounds.
