For my project I am to "pretend" to buy a computer system for my office using the following prgrams:

Microsoft Windows Vista Business
Microsoft Office Suites 2003 or newer
Word
Excel
Access
PowerPoint
Outlook
Publisher

Antivirus Program (of choice)
Adobe Acrobat reader professional (to convert files from Microsoft to .PDF files)
Adobe Photoshop CS
Or
Corel Photoshop

I need to determine the requirements for the following devices:
CPU
RAM
HARD DRIVE
GRAPHICS VIDEO CARD
SOUND CARD
OPTICAL DRIVE
MONITOR
NIC CARD
PRINTER

Noted: the hard drive should be the total needed to run the software plus 40 GB. The amount of RAM should be as much as possible.

Now this is a great assignment, but I don't know or understand that much about Computer Systems to fulfill this assignment.

I was wondering if I may be so lucky to have someone volunteer to help me figure this out?

Appreciated

Pretty much any Vista compatible computer will run those applications with ease. Suggestion - 2Gig of RAM.
Just find a nice Vista computer (with the business flavor) on the Internet - Dell, Gatwway, etc. and copy down the specs.

Tigerdirect.com has individual prices on the various business flavors, Office 2007 - which include Word, Access, Power Point, Outlook and Publisher (the premium package includes all.
You can get a free anti-virus (AVG) .
Search Acrobat for the price of the professional versionamd photo shop.

Now - I am not going to do all your homework for you.

And after you pass this course are you supposed to be able to get a job telling people what equipment they need?
All of these can be found on line - if nothing else, get the stats for the software and pick a Dell system and look through the stats till you need something higher.

How do you expect to learn anything if someone else does your research?
