Because of this pain in my neck I kept waking up in pain. I finally just got up and posed the question here to see if I could get help. So I used what I had from the responses I got. I took 2 Ibuprofen, 5 taheebo life tea capsules, drank some pau d'arco tea and put heat on my neck and about an hour or so I felt relaxed enough to get back to sleep, unfortunately I could only get about 1 and a half hours due to my job. Since then I have gone to a chiropractor and I believe it has worsened since that visit. I think my next step is to get some lavender oil and try applying that to my neck.

well, i broke my neck last year and I don't really have neck pain because i stretch it. look to the left and then to the right for a ten second hold each way. repeat 10 times. also, get a flexible band, throw it on the top of a door and shut the door and pull the band down stretching your arms all the ways down and then take the band back and squeeze your shoulder blades and then bring your elbows to your hips and do like a tricept exercise. reapeat all 10 times 3 reps each. other muscles effect your neck. If it is bad pain go see a physical therapist.

First of all find a good massage therapist. Try to have a massage to loosen the muscles. I personally have a pinched nerve in the neck and sometimes I need help. I have also gone to a chiro to place my spine in alignment as well. When there is no other help available I wet a hand towel in hot water and place it around my neck and it relieves the pain. Day to day preventative practice is do some yoga for the neck itself to prevent it from happening...

Hasn't anyone ever heard of going to the DOCTOR??? You see, there is a thing called x-rays and and another called an MRI. They are very helpful in finding out what is CAUSING the problem. Once you know why you have the pain, then you can decide on the best way to treat it. The other suggestions are nice but you may need an expert to help you this time. Just my opinion.

I don't believe that I have a cure for back pain but you should look into trying Pilates. It is excercise that casues no strain on the back but places emphasis on realigning your back. I have a friend who works as a pilates instructor and swears by it. good luck!
