that those of you who believe this CHOSE to be straight.

When didja all wake up and decide to be heterosexuals? Was it the fear of being ostracized, belittled and threatened or was it (HUH!) innate?

Please give me a true answer. I don't know anyone who chose to be told constantly that they are an abomination or that they chose to be gay. So how did become heterosexual?

Please refrain from using Bible quotes. Thank you.

That's a great question! My brainwashed-by-the-church homophobic sister is always saying "gay people choose to be gay." I've been trying to find some type of counterargument to shut her up for months now and I think I just found it with your question! Thanks!

I didn't choose at all...I was always attracted to the same sex as far as I can remember. If I had the choice, why would I choose a life that is so looked down upon? There is so much hatred and bigotry in this world, that I can't think of anyone who would choose such a difficult lifestyle. You have posed an excellent however. Good going!

I think it's only logical if we supposedly "choose" then, so did they! but if you ask them if they "chose"...they can't answer! they usually make some nasty comment or start quoting the Bible out of context again.
no choice here....I know that I have always been attracted to women...never to men. nothing "happened" to make me "turn" lesbian. they also like to always say that we had some kind if "trauma" they made us change....sorry! also NOT true! I was never abused/molested or raped. I don't hate men (I have lots of male friends...gay and straight, as well as lesbian and straight female friends). I'm not a pedophile or into bestiality or drugs...what are all the other lame stereotypes/behaviors they like to throw around when they busy Bible-thumping? all wrong, all b.s. it's genetic!

Veryyyyyy good question, but I doubt anyone could give you a good answer! :-) I like it when people are made to think for themselves instead of using things like bible quotes to hide behind! Man.. you rock! Lolz

PS~ Straight people say that everyone is born straight and they "turn gay".... but how do they know for sure? It could just as easily be the other way around.... we could all be born gay and they could be "turning straight"! In that case I would say that the people who "turn" straight are cowards!

Lmao! BTW I do believe we are born gay! :-)

whoa, that is a tough question
its not that you wake up gay
slowly, you learn that you are more attracted to men, and then eventually, it hits you
WHAM
i just realized im gay
and im not joking
its just a sort of thing that you biuld up
most men know that it is typical for them to fall for the opposite sex, so when intimately interacting with the same sex, they are a bit insecure and possibly confused about their true nature, due to the lifestyle that they were grown into (unless my some miraculous occurance they were born to a gay family and livedin a gay/les neighborhood)

and the same way around
when men who think that their gay just because their attracted to other men, that doesnt mean that their neccisarily gay
they could just have a different taste in physical appearance
when a gay man realizes that their strait, they go through the same process
they are first attracted to a girl, than intimacy biulds up, and then some time in between deep intimate relationship and just plain get-to-know relationship, it hits him
WHAM
im strait

so there you go, though this answer is totaly based on personal opinion :D
oh, and heres a star for you -___^

Most of the people who claim that being gay is a choice are either religious nuts or ignorant children.

Oh and one of my pet peeves is this whole "Lifestyle" thing!
I don't know about anyone else, but my sex life isn't the be all and end all of my existence. I have a LIFE beyond my sexuality. I am a mother, a daughter, a sister, a life partner, I am a business owner, a tax paying citizen and a community volunteer.
How is my living my life somehow a "gay lifestyle?"

Excuse me, i believe this needs to be asked in the heterosexual section.(lol) They do choose to be straight. I am sure, otherwise they would choose to be gay.

Stupid bastard none of us chose to be gay we were born like this and the sooner you get this through your thick head the better it will be. Why do you choose to pick on us when we just leave you alone with your beliefs, we dont try to force ours on you so why should you try to force your's on us. I am lesbian and drive my partner to church every week but I dont believe, but I dont try to stop her believing. Babe I will never wake up and be hetro because my life is so nice.. Jesus never condemned any of us , so I believe he wasnt bothered about gays. He just loved everyone.

I've been asking this question for 6 months now on Yahoo! Answers and the main response I keep getting is
"God hates the sin but loves the sinner".

Good luck.
You'll be bombarded by happy clappin' Jesus freaks.

They'll never get your logic or truth because they want us to be different. Why?
They are scared to admit that we are just like them.
