For me it is three times a week.

1X Chip shop during the week.
1X McDonalds at a lunchtime.
1X Chinese at the weekend.

I also have a fry up on a Saturday morning usually.

The rest of my diet is normal - healthy.

Does this sound really bad to you or normal? Am I in danger of an early death?

I am not overweight and also do about 4 hours of vigorous exercise a week (boxing, swimming and long walks).

I just love junk food so much and when I get the craving for it wild horses couldn't stop me. Anyone else have this problem?

most people have this problem.
chinese - once a week
ready meals - 4 times a week
snacks such as peanuts, chocolate - 6 times a week
i try to eat veg but find it boring.
i train at least 3 times a week.
the trouble is that not many people have the strength of mind to eat healthy all their lives and to be honest, how boring would that be.

If you're excersizing well, you're diet shouldn't cause any concern. I geerally eat Fast foods 1 in two weeks, must admit, I dont excersize, but keep the rest of my diet healthy, and don't really drink (about once a month tops), and Im inshape.

Please remember, that fast foods aren't just take-aways, it's is food with a higher than normal sugar/fat (especially saturated fat) level. Processd foods are also called fast foods. Anything that is not natural could be classified as fast foods. E.G. White bread (because it's processed), Chicken Nuggets (Processed), Balony (Processed). These processed foods are generally high in sugar content, and should be kept away from if you have diabetes.
Good food includes anything in it's most natural form, e.g. Fruit, or vegitables, meat from a butcher (still intact) - all unprocessed foods.

Hope this helps.

I don't think it sounds excessive. Especially if you take care of your body and exercise then it's fine to treat yourself once in awhile. Three times a week is nothing compared to some people.

Personally I don't eat fast food on a regular basis. But I do get Taco Bell cravings once in awhile (especially when I've been drinking!) and I'll give into them. But I got over fast food a long time ago when I thought about how disgusting the concept of fried food is. That's just my personal taste.

we are extra susceptible to drop right into a Pub (interior the united kingdom) than %. up a takeaway. final time we had fish and chips from the close by chippy could be some 3 or extra years in the past - we've a McDonalds (which husband would not like) yet no KFC, Thai or Mexican. I could admit that our chip save fish and chips isn't many times a patch on those we've had on your neck of the woods.

I ate fried calamari with fresh antipasto salad and white wine for fathers day dinner last night.

It was sliced zucchini, eggplant, broccoli, carrots, lettuce, artichoke hearts, olives, tomatoes and I crumpled goat cheese on top of a nice olive oil vinaigrette dressing. The fried calamari with a fresh lemon wedge squeezed over it with red Italian tomato sauce. The calamari I considered my junk food. Because, its fried.

Take out once a week is either Thai or Chinese or Mexican or Italian and its usually dishes filled with vegetables with either chicken, beef or pork. No fast food chains are involved.

I'd rather make my own hamburger at home with a nice Caesar salad and red wine. Red wine is loaded with antioxidants and in moderation helps to lower heart disease and cancer risks.

I drink no sodas and lots of water.

If I do want a flavored drink its a natural mineral water or mineral water with real fruit juice from mandarin orange, green apple, cassis or pomegranates. I drink really good Belgium or Pilzner beers from micro breweries or imported from Europe in moderation.

I kick box from 5:30 am to 7:40am. I snack all day long. I eat whole nuts, seeds, fruit smoothies, salsas, salads, fish, chicken or turkey. I eat constantly.

I am 5'8" 135 pounds.

I do my best to avoid fast food places and or white flower products like the plague.

We have decided that we have far too many takeaways - sometimes 3 in a week!!! (occasionally more) - for the last month, we have had none and I am really missing it - I work very long hours rearing calfs and often am at work at 4am and finish at 9pm so don't feel like coming home and cooking!!!

Junk food contains things such as aspartame and MSG.

They set the body to expect sugar in the case of aspartame and your body "craves" real sugar. People may drink "diet" drinks but then go and eat chocolate bars of toffee to get the sugar. "In test animals such artificial sweeteners added to the diet will cause obesity , lassitude and a general inability to cope."

In your case it is more food with additives..

It is certainly is not increasing your likely lifespan

Very rarely. If Im not going to cook Id rather go to a restaurant. I personally think 3 x is a bit much. I think 2 max is better although ideally only one a week.

I have an indian or a chinese takeaway once a week, and go out for a meal somewhere once a week.

Not very often but probably have a McD's brekkie once a month
