i want to know peoples opions on softball and baseball. like what are the differences? and why alot of people think girls can't play baseball? and why alot of men think softball isn't a sport? and stuff like that.
i play softball and i get mad about some of the peoples opinion of softball, i just don't understand.
Just let me know your gereneral opion on the subject.

Well, I guarentee that if all these guys who are cranky about softball shoud bat against some of those girls that were in the college world series... hee hee hee gimmie a break.. I have been playing softball for over 50 years. (fast pitch) and back in the 50's and 60's I batted against some screamers... Like 90 + MPH from 45 feet. Girls playing baseball. Another give me a break... The only people again who think a girl cant play ball are sought of macho. My daughter was one of the first girls to play Little League baseball in Pennsylvania. She was left handed, Batted right and was a great pitcher, left fielder and first baseman.. Oh, yes they all respected her too and they never mad fun of her... Good luck in what ever you play.... Baseball is a masculine sport for men and softball is the equivalent for women
Men who's career are over in baseball play softball cause it's slower and it's still the same game just different rules
Men are jealous cause women still play the same game regardless of how old you get
It's an ego thing
Fact is that Jenny Finch proved the boys wrong when they tryed to hit off her an ended up eating crow
Softball is the ying to Baseballs yang
I'm a former player of both an the only thing different is the sex of the players. Infact some of the men still havn't put on the skirt yet.
But give them time and they'll be back on the 60' diamond with a 3-10 arc.
Sorry but you'll hear it from them until they join a softball league of their own.

I assume you ar talking about fast-pitch softball and not slow-pitch. In baseball, you hit using your lower body for power. In fast-pitch softball, due to the shorter distance from pitcher to batter (and thus less reation time) you have to hit with only your upper body. Fast-pitch softball also has a pitch not possible with an overhand delivery - a truly rising fastball. I have seen former major league players flailing away at the rising fastball as part of an exhibition - it was really funny as the barely even fouled off a pitch. And yes, the pitcher was female!

I am a baseball player and i hate it when people compare baseball to softball. Softball has a bigger and brighter ball, smaller bases and a much smaller field. Baseballs come in at 100MPH while a softball comes in at 70MPH it is stupid to compare the two, the only similarities are rules

in girls softball, i like how the pitcher does like a Bugs Bunny pitch (the underarm swinging arm twirling motion). looks tough to hit

ummm softball is played in a smaller feild and the ball is bigger...but its not just a girl sport...guys may think it is just cuz its known to be a girl sport
