Yes, I think it's good he put some thought into it especially since both of you are in transitional periods in your life. Obviously you broke up with him because something wasn't going right. Now this is a good time to develop yourself and find out what it is you really want and eventually maybe you two will end up back together, or perhaps it was never meant to be! Relationships go thru all kinds of peaks and valleys. Just always look at things objectively and be grateful that you had someone who took out time to think about both of your futures! good luck and have fun in College!

Sounds like he gave it a lot of thought...most guys at that age can't/don't give much more thought to relationships than they do to eating a jelly donut. Stay friends -- and keep an open mind...I had a similar situation when I was 19...we both went to college, then we dated again at 24, then we broke up...then she got married for 10 years, then divorced, then at 20th reunion we got back together, and are stronger than ever, and look back and laugh lovingly at all those times we had, and forward to what we can have now...Life is a long race...keep your options OPEN, and do not hold back or feel guilty in pursuing other relationships in the meantime...you never know what the future holds, and having a good friend for life is worth a lot on its own merit...so keep that peice of it, and move on for now and get the most out of college.

Staying friends is good if you can handle it. The fact that he thought about it hopefully means he's serious and thought it through. When you get to college, you'll both find new relationships, and it's possible the friendship might fizzle out. But it's worth a try. Don't be too upset if eventually he stops calling. Or maybe you'll be the one who stops calling. Or better yet, maybe you'll have a life-long friendship.

yea he probably was thinking over pro's and con's over getting in another relationship wit u. i wouldn't get too close to a guy because u are both going to college and will be seperated. at college there will be girl tat mite tempt ur ex and guys tat mite tempt u. so stay friends and u can always start up another relationship in college.
i think its good and i don't c anything bad about it
hope i could help! :)

Bad. He has said exactly what he wants in this relationship (to be friends) and you have said what you want (to break up) and now college is coming, so don't go a direction you don't want to go in ... be true to what you have said and let it be ... and if down the road something develops, then let it.

In a typical high school romance the best you can hope for is that when you break up you don't become enemies.
Looks like you are ahead of the game as friends.
A year in college and you won't even remember his name.

i think it is good. also after a relationship that is going up and down right before college is not a good idea. he might be looking for a long term relationship!?! anyways you guys wouldn't see each other much after high school is over.
