Like, totally, we were really groady, you know? Gag me with a spoon!
This is how some people used to talk when I was a teenager and I wanted to smack them even then! Then after "valley girl speak", there was that whole "clueless lingo" that turned "whatever" into a non-word.
And who's brilliant idea was it to make shoes out of rubber and glitter? I don't miss the 80's and I'm sure that the kids of today are probably going to want to hide their myspace pages once they have kids of their own.

We were just as annoying in a different way! Rolling our eyes, shrugging our shoulders, sighing at everything adults said, slamming the bedroom door after shouting "Oh you just don't understand" or "It's so unfair!"
I well remember hating everyone in the world, and myself particularly! I thought all my friends were pretty and I was a freak.
Typical conversation with my mother:
"Where are you going?" "OUT!"
"What are you doing?" "NOTHING!"
We talked just as loudly, using the latest catchphrases from TV, it's the "look at me" gene in the adolescent corresponding to the hormones in overdrive. You think you're totally misunderstood, a genius who just needs freedom to take wing. Then you finish school, try to get a job--and reality comes in with a rush.
And in a few year's time, your mother or father's voice starts coming out of your mouth: "That's not music, that's just noise." "Does her mother KNOW she left the house dressed like that??" and on and on.
I'm sure that the Romans complained just as much about adolescent chariot drivers who all thought they were Ben Hur, or something.

My mother says I was even more annoying as a teen then what there are out there today. The 80's were such a good time for me, and that is when my mother acquired her gray hair. Those were the days......
Peace.

Yes they are annoying ( I have a 16yr old) and yes we were too!!
Unfortunately, in this electronic age the 'kids' don't seem to be able to entertain themselves. There is nothing for them to do other than 'hang out'. (usually at mine if it's raining or cold!! lucky i've got wireless broadband! lol)
They don't play 'games' anymore. Ok i'm sounding old now...........

Yes, you were that annoying when you were that age. You just didn't think about it. Just like little kids are always full of energy, so teenagers are always under peer pressure, rebelious to their parents, etc. No difference.
