If I signed a lease through a realty company that my landlords later fired, is that lease still valid?

Should I have signed a new lease that goes straight to my landlords? Right now I am having problems with my landlords and the lease but the more I think about it, the more I realize that it doesn't make sense for that lease to still be valid considering I signed it with a company they are no longer involved with. I really need to know!

Usually the leases are transfered to the direct landlord. It will depend on your local and state laws. Also if your landlord doesnt like you, and you want to leave, now may be a good time to just talk to your landlord about it.

Chance are you signed a lease with the landlord with the realty company acting as hired agents for the landlords. The company could not have leased the property to you without the ability to do so by (1) having an ownership or possession interest in it or (2) apparent or actual authority to act on behalf of the people with suc h an interest (i.e. the landlords). If you don't have (1) or (2), you have a potential fraud action against the company and the lease is void. However, I seriously doubt this is the case. I suggest you get a lawyer to look at the lease to give you the best advice.

It doesnt matter if the fired the company. you signed a lease wich he agreed too. If you have not done anything to brake the lease then your still in good condition. Make sure you have a copy of the lease thoe.

The lease is still valid for its duration. The real estate firm was acting as agent for the landlords.

Sometimes the co. is representing the owners and they do the paperwork for the owners so even though an agency is paid to do paperwork etc.. it really could be owner to tenant but to be sure go to site below and click buyers and download any pdf's forms free.
